Many diseases can be cured by changing lifestyle and food habits. By using household items, the body will not only remain healthy but the expenses on illness will also be saved. Please take care of these things.
• Fruit juice, oily things, buttermilk, sour things should not be eaten at night.
• Water should not be drunk immediately after eating ghee or oily things, rather water should be drunk after one and a half hours.
• Walking or running too fast immediately after eating is harmful. Therefore, one should rest for some time before going.
• In the evening, after eating, one should take a walk in fresh air. Sleeping immediately after eating causes stomach problems.
• One should get up early in the morning and exercise or physical work should be done in the open air.
• Water should never be drunk after walking in the hot sun, after doing physical work or immediately after defecation.
• Honey and ghee should not be eaten by mixing them in equal quantities, it becomes poison.
• Contradictory food items should not be taken together like milk and jackfruit, milk and curd, fish and milk etc.
• One should never sleep with a cloth tied on the head or wearing socks.
• Reading in very bright or dim light, watching too much TV or movies, consuming too much hot or cold food, using too much spices, walking in the scorching sun, all these should be avoided. If one has to walk in the scorching sun, one should walk with a cloth tied on the head and ears.
• The patient should always be given warm or lukewarm water to drink. And the patient should be protected from cold air, hard work and anger.
• It is written in Ayurveda that bile is pacified by sleep, gas is reduced by massage, phlegm is reduced by vomiting and fever is pacified by skipping. Therefore, these things must be kept in mind while doing home remedies.
• If one gets burnt by fire or any hot thing, the burnt part should be immersed in cold water. - If there is pain in the ear and the juice of leaves has to be put in the ear, then it should be put before sunrise or after sunset.
• Any patient should avoid consuming oil, ghee or excessively greasy substances.
• Medicines to cure indigestion and poor digestion should always be taken after meals.
• In the case of stool blockage or constipation, if diarrhea is to be induced, it should be done in the morning and not at night.
• If a teenage girl or a young woman in the house is suffering from epileptic attacks, she should not be made to vomit, have diarrhoea or skip meals.
• If any medicine has to be mixed in a thin substance, then it should not be mixed in tea, coffee or milk, but should be mixed in buttermilk, coconut water or plain water.
• Asafoetida should always be used after frying it in pure ghee. Raw asafoetida should be used in pastes.
