Properties Of Aloo Bukhara (Subgenus Prunus) And Its Ayurvedic Treatments

 


Introduction

The plum tree is about 4 to 5 meters high. Its fruit is called aloo bukhara. It is found in abundance in Persia, Greece and the areas around Arabia.
Now plums are being grown in our country as well. The color of the plum is like raisins from the outside and yellow from the inside. There are 4 varieties of plum according to the difference in the leaves. Mostly it comes here from Bukhara, so it is called aloo bukhara. Its seeds are like almond seeds but a little smaller. Its fruit is long circular in shape and swollen on one side. When well ripened, this fruit is sour, sweet, tasty and beneficial for the body, but eating too much of these fruits causes flatulence and diarrhea.

Properties

Makes the nature soft, creates smoothness in the intestines, is beneficial in bile fever and blood fever, removes itching of the body, stops thirst. Despite being sour, it does not cause cough and destroys diabetes, tumour and piles.

It is absorbent, tasteless, laxative, hot in nature, destroys phlegm and bile, digestive, sour, sweet, pleasant to the mouth and cleans the mouth and destroys tumour, haemorrhoids, piles and blood vata.
When cooked, it is sweet, inert, bile-causing, hot, tasty, increases the body and is pleasant. Destroys haemorrhoids, fever and gas.

Harmful effects

Its excess can be harmful for the brain.

Treatment of various diseases

1. To clear the stomach:

Grating plum in water and drinking it clears the stomach.


2. Vomiting :

Grind plums and mix them with lemon juice and add black pepper, cumin, dry ginger, black salt, rock salt, coriander, carom seeds in equal quantity and eat it like chutney, vomiting stops. Vomiting stops by drinking the juice of ripe plums.


3. When the mouth is dry :

Plums should be kept in the mouth.

4. Constipation :

Constipation does not occur by eating plums.

5. In case of diarrhea:

Eating plums stops diarrhea because it stops stool and cures constipation.

6. Feeling excessive thirst:

Keeping plums in the mouth reduces thirst and stops dryness of the throat.


7. Heat stroke:

Keep plums in hot water for a while and then mash them. Filter it and drink it after adding rock salt. Heat stroke ends.

8. In case of increased bile:


Drinking 50 to 100 ml of plum juice or 20 to 40 ml of decoction in the morning and evening calms the bile.


9. Jaundice:

Its chutney is beneficial in jaundice.

10. Blood deficiency:

Extracting juice from plums and drinking two glasses of juice every morning and evening ends blood pressure (anemia) caused due to blood deficiency.

11. For throat disease:

Eating and sucking plums four times a day cures dryness of the throat.
