Food is taken for the sustenance of the body. Eating food according to the season makes the body stronger and there is no physical weakness.
In the winter season, cold air touches the body which makes us feel more cold. We keep wearing warm clothes. The heat inside the body does not come out. This heat remains inside, this increases the power to digest food. Days are short, nights are long, the body gets more rest. The effect of all these is that we digest heavy, rich and nutritious food easily.
When severe cold starts, then we should start eating nutritious food, strength-enhancing food and seasonal fruits. In nutritious food, ghee, milk, butter, urad dal, halwa, kheer, rabri, pure ghee jalebi and milk, urad dal dishes, moong or carrot halwa, cashew nuts, pistachios, almonds, walnuts etc. should be especially consumed.
Seasonal items like amla, banana, carrot, guava, honey, peanuts, ripe tomatoes, spinach, fenugreek etc. should be included in the diet and consumed.
Drink a glass of sweet milk after two and a half hours of eating. Consume 1 spoon of pure ghee with it. If you want to consume honey, cool the milk completely and mix 2 spoons of pure honey in it and drink it. Milk should not be consumed in one gulp but should be consumed sip by sip at intervals.
Eat sesame and jaggery laddus during severe winter. Massage the entire body with mustard oil. When winter ends and autumn arrives, when the neem tree sprouts new shoots, eat 15 tender neem shoots every day for a month. This protects the body from blood disorders, skin diseases and fever.
