Yoga For Constipation Treatment

 


Introduction- Constipation means accumulation of large amount of stool in the large intestine. Due to constipation, more time is taken in the absorption of liquids in the descending intestines, due to which dry (cold) and hard stool starts accumulating in them. A common reason for constipation is the stoppage of the normal process of defecation in life. A newborn child rarely gets constipation, but in the first year of his development, he is taught the process of defecation, due to which he starts considering defecation as a daily process. There are many reasons for constipation- Negligence in eating and drinking- Constipation occurs in people due to wrong eating habits. Using such substances in food which the digestive system cannot digest easily, due to which the stool is not completely cleared from the intestine and starts rotting inside. Constipation also occurs due to eating too much spicy and heavy food. Most people have such symptoms of constipation in which the deficiencies in the voluntary functioning of the intestines and structural abnormalities of constipation cannot be ignored. Investigation of the food items used by scientists on a daily basis has shown that people do not use fibrous and liquid substances in their food, due to which people do not get the required protein and vitamins and this leads to constipation. According to scientists, all people should consume 10 to 12 grams of fibrous vegetables and 1 to 2 glasses of liquid substances daily. Also, if you feel like defecating after eating or at any time, then you should not postpone it due to laziness, rather you should defecate if you feel like defecating. Structural abnormalities- Wounds in the intestines etc. cause obstruction in the path of defecation, due to which pain is caused by straining while defecating. If you do not defecate due to pain, the stool slides in the intestines and causes constipation. Systematic disease- Constipation occurs in the intestines due to malfunction of the nerves of the intestinal tract, malfunction of the muscles, endocrine abnormalities and abnormalities of electrolytes. Treatment of disease through yogic activities- To eliminate constipation, one should practice yoga activities daily. This eliminates constipation caused due to any reason. Shatkriya (Hatha Yoga Activities) Practice Agnisar Kriya or Nauli and Basti Kriya. Yogic activities for all stomach related problems and to strengthen the stomach muscles- Asanas: Practice Surya Namaskar, Pawan Muktasana, Trikonasana, Halasana, Tadasana, Kati Chakrasana, Matsyasana and Ardha Matsyasana. Pranayama: Do Kumbhak with Bhastrika Pranayama, i.e., practice holding the breath. Bandha: Practice Uddiyana Bandha and Maha Bandha in this disease. Time: Practice these yogic activities for 20 minutes daily. Preksha: After Pranayama and Bandha, practice deep breathing Preksha. Anupreksha (Mindful feeling): While doing breathing exercise, think in your mind- "Constipation inside me has gone away and I am becoming healthy. My mind and brain have become pure." Such a feeling should be created in the mind. Food In this disease, eat light and easily digestible food. Eat salad and vegetables daily. Drink sufficient amount of water and fruit juice. Eat wheat and barley roti by adding more than half bran. Avoidance Do not consume starchy substances and use less salt. Do not consume such substances, which cause constipation. Special- Practice all yoga activities carefully. Practice Shatkriya as per the advice of the yoga doctor, if needed. Practice other yoga activities daily. Always practice on an empty stomach.
