Introduction: There is a round tube at the place of urination which is called prostate or male gland. When this tube increases from the normal size, it creates trouble in the urination path of the patient which is called Ashthila. This disease occurs mostly in old age. Name in different languages:
- Hindi Ashthila.
- English Enlarged Prostate.
- Arabic Mal Mutra Ruhaka Granthi.
- Bengali Ashthila.
- Malayalam Kuzhavi.
- Marathi Ashthila.
- Punjabi Purakh Granthiwaab.
- Tamil Purastha Kool Thapithan.
Treatment with different medicines- 1. Cancer: Taking Cancer seeds, rock salt and Triphala in equal quantity and giving 3 to 6 grams with 50 to 100 ml lukewarm water in the morning and evening is beneficial. Soak 25 gram seeds of Karkati in 25 ml Kanji and mix 4 gram rock salt in it. Make 2 packets of this and give 1 packet in the morning and 1 packet in the evening. 2.Kushmanda: Consuming 56 ml Kushmanda pulp juice with 0.5 gram Yavakshar and 25 gram sugar in the morning and evening gives relief in Ashtila.
