Introduction
Vitamin H is also known as biotin. It is also a member of the Vitamin B-complex family. Its deficiency causes anemia (lack of blood) in the body and lack of red blood cells. Its effect is visible on the skin. In its absence, the skin starts looking yellow or white. In its absence, serum cholesterol increases. By using Vitamin H, one gets rid of all the disorders caused by its deficiency very soon. Anemia (lack of blood) in the body has been seen to end with just 6-8 days of use. As soon as anemia (lack of blood) is cured, the whiteness or yellowness on the skin goes away on its own and the patient starts feeling new freshness and energy inside him. The increase in serum cholesterol also gets balanced with its use for a few days. Hence, this member of Vitamin B-complex is not only important like other vitamins but also gives life force.
Adenylic acid
Adenylic acid is also a special member of the vitamin B-complex family. It is found in yeast. Its use in pellagra disease and mucous membrane wounds etc. produces extremely beneficial effects. There is also a possibility of toxic symptoms due to its effect, so it should be used with complete caution and vigilance.
Choline
Choline is also a member of the vitamin B-complex family. It has an effect on liver diseases, especially when fat gets deposited in the liver. Its presence in the body prevents liver related diseases, i.e. liver disorders do not occur.
Folic acid
Folic acid is a powerful member of vitamin B-complex which is being successfully used in macrocytic anemia. It is found in sufficient quantity in animal liver, soybean, green vegetables, dried peas, pulses, spinach, amaranth etc. Giving folic acid with iron produces a more powerful effect. It is made by artificial methods. Initially it was discovered in the green leaves of spinach. Spinach is its main source. Its tablets and injection are both available.
The use of folic acid proves to be a panacea for dangerous anemia (lack of blood) that occurs after dysentery, sprue, chronic diarrhoea. Its use is beneficial for anemia that occurs during pregnancy. However, folic acid should be started to be given right from the beginning of pregnancy. It should be given alone, with iron or with liver extract. It becomes even more powerful with both of these. Folic acid is an orange coloured granular pale powder. Its normal quantity in a healthy body is 5 to 20 mg and in disease state it is 100 to 150 mg.
