Properties
Water hyacinth is small, dry, sharp, Madhur (mildly sweet). Its ripe fruit is sweet, Sheetvirya (cold in nature), Tridosha-Shamak (destroys Kapha-Pitta-Vata), Mridurechan (cleanses hard stools), Kaphanisarak (removes phlegm), corrects urinary system, Daha-Prashaman (destroys body burning), Raktastambhak (stops bleeding) etc.
Water hyacinth is considered useful in curing many types of diseases like dysentery, blood disorders, hematemesis, cough-breath related diseases, fever (fever), worms (worms in the stomach) and urine related diseases.
Treatment for various diseases
Ringworm of the head: Mixing the ashes of water hyacinth in oil and applying it on the ringworm of the head cures it.
