Properties Of Cumin And Ayurvedic Treatment From It

 


Introduction

The Latin name of cumin is Cuminum cyminum. It cures indigestion and pain. Cumin is a tasty spice and is also used a lot in medicines. Cumin is found in abundance in India.
It is of three types - white cumin, Shah cumin or black cumin and Kalonji cumin. Their properties are the same. All three cumin seeds are dry and sharp. They are constipation-relieving, intellect-enhancing, bile-producing, tasty, strength-giving, cough-relieving and beneficial for the eyes.

White cumin is used for seasoning lentils and vegetables and Shah cumin is used especially as a medicine. Othmi cumin and Shankhjira, these two things are completely different from cumin. Othmi cumin is called small cumin or isabgol.

Treatment for various diseases


1. Toothache:

Rinsing with boiled water of black cumin seeds relieves toothache.
Roast 3 grams of cumin seeds and make powder. Mix 3 grams of rock salt in it and grind it finely to make toothpaste. Rubbing this toothpaste on gums ends swelling and toothache.

2. Frequent urination:

Grind 2-2 grams of cumin seeds, nutmeg and black salt and make powder.
Then eating this mixture with 100 ml of pineapple juice is beneficial.

3. Bad breath:

If there is bad breath, then roast cumin seeds and eat them. This remedy removes bad breath.

4. Malaria fever:

Grind one teaspoon of cumin seeds and mix it with 10 grams of jaggery.
Make 3 doses of this and give it before the fever rises, in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Grind 1 spoon of unroasted cumin seeds. Mix 3 times the quantity of jaggery in it and make 3 tablets. Consume the tablets at regular intervals of 1 hour before the onset of malarial fever which comes with cold.
Use it daily for a few days. This cures malarial fever.

Grind black cumin seeds, elua, dry ginger, black pepper, nimboli of bakayan tree and kernel of karanjave and make small tablets. Consuming 1 tablet at an interval of 3 hours cures malarial fever.


5. Chronic fever:


Mix 1 gram of raw ground cumin seeds in the same quantity of jaggery and consume it 3 times a day. This cures even the most chronic fever.

6. Pachak Churan:


Take cumin seeds, dry ginger, rock salt, peepal, black pepper in equal quantity and grind them finely to make a powder.
Consuming 1 spoon of this powder with fresh water after meals helps in digestion of food quickly.

7. Bloody piles:


Take one spoon each of cumin, fennel, coriander and boil it in 1 glass of water. When half the water is left, filter it.
Then add one spoon of Desi ghee to it and consume it in the morning and evening. This stops bleeding in piles. It is more beneficial for piles in pregnant women.

8. To clean the face:

Boil cumin and wash the face with that water.
This increases the beauty of the face.

9. Itching and hives:


Boil cumin in water and wash the body with that water. Itching and hives of the body disappear.

10. Stones, swelling and urinary retention:


In these problems, grinding cumin and sugar in equal quantity and taking 1 spoon each with fresh water 3 times a day is beneficial.


11. Lumps in the breasts:

If a breast-feeding woman develops a lump in her breast, then grind cumin in water and apply it on the breast. It will be beneficial.

12. Removing the accumulated breast milk:


Fry 50 grams of cumin seeds in cow ghee and grind it.
Add 50 grams of sugar candy to it. Use 5 grams of this with milk in the morning. This purifies the uterus and also increases the milk in the breasts.

13. ncrease in breast milk:

Mix the powders of white cumin seeds, fennel seeds and sugar candy separately in equal quantities. Give one spoon of this with milk three times a day to a lactating woman, which increases the milk. Breast milk increases in a few days by cooking white cumin seeds and Santhi rice in milk. Roast 125 grams of cumin seeds and add 125 grams of powdered sugar candy to it. Consume one spoon of this every morning and evening. This increases the milk in the breasts.

14. Indigestion:

Take 3 to 6 grams of roasted cumin and rock salt powder with warm water 3 times a day. This cures indigestion.

15. Dysentery:

Take 1-2 grams of dry cumin powder with 250 ml butter four times a day.
This cures dysentery.

16. Sour belching:

Mix 5-10 grams of cumin in ghee and heat it. Mix it with rice at mealtime and eat it to stop sour belching.

17. Cough:

Cough and phlegm are cured by drinking cumin decoction or chewing some of its seeds.


18. Night blindness:


Mix cumin, amla and cotton leaves and grind them in cold water to make a paste. Applying this paste on the head and tying a bandage for a few days continuously cures night blindness. Consuming cumin powder is beneficial in night blindness (inability to see at night).


19. Scorpion poison:

Grind cumin and salt, mix it with ghee and honey, heat it a little and apply it on the scorpion sting.

20. Fever:

Mix 5 grams of cumin powder with old jaggery and make pills and consume it, it cures fever and chronic fever.
