Introduction
Tesu tree is found everywhere in India. Since ancient times, it is used as a medicine for treatment. Tesu trees are 150 to 450 cm high. Its leaves are about 6 inches long. Its bark is half an inch thick and rough. In summer season, when its bark is cut, a type of juice comes out which becomes a red gum-like substance when solidified. Palas flowers are bright red and orange in color.
Properties
Consuming Tesu flower gives strength to the body and quenches thirst. Its consumption increases blood in the body, urine comes freely. Leprosy, seasonal fever, burning sensation, cough, gas formation in the stomach, semen related diseases, dysentery (fluid with diarrhea), eye diseases, night blindness, spermatorrhoea (sperm disorder), piles and jaundice etc. are cured by consuming it. It reduces mucus (phlegm) and bile. It kills stomach worms and reduces blood flow. Consuming its gum cures acidity. It increases the digestive power. Applying its leaves on swelling reduces swelling. It increases appetite, strengthens the liver and reduces mucus.
The root of Tesu is used to cure night blindness (inability to see at night), eliminate eye swelling and increase eye light.
Treatment of various diseases
1. Eye diseases:
By putting 1 drop of fresh Tesu root juice in the eyes, eye diseases like eye glaucoma, swollen cataract and night blindness etc. are cured.
2. Epistaxis (nose bleeding):
Soak 5 to 7 Tesu flowers in cold water overnight. In the morning, remove them from this water and filter the water and add a little sugar candy to it and drink it. This gives relief in nose bleed.
3. Epilepsy:
By putting 4 to 5 drops of Tesu root juice in the nose, epileptic attacks stop.
4. Goiter:
Goiter is cured by rubbing the Tesu root and applying it under the ear.
5. Flatulence (gas formation in the stomach):
Drinking 40 ml decoction of Tesu bark and dry ginger in the morning and evening cures flatulence and stomach pain.
6. Intestinal worms:
Mix Tesu seeds, Kabila, Ajwain, Vayvidang, Nisat and Kirmani in small quantities and grind them finely. Taking it with jaggery in the quantity of about 3 grams kills all types of worms in the stomach. Consuming 1 teaspoon powder of Tesu seeds twice a day kills all the worms in the stomach and brings them out.
7. Sperm disorder:
Drying the fresh (absolutely new) shoots of Tesu in the shade, grinding and filtering them, mixing them with jaggery and eating about 10 grams in the morning and evening cures flatulence. Extract the juice of the root of Tesu and soak wheat grains in that juice for 3 days. After that, grind both and make halwa and eat it. It cures gonorrhoea, premature ejaculation and weakness of sexual power.
8. Raktarsha (bloody piles):
Consuming 15 grams of the ash of the Panchaga (root, stem, leaf, fruit and flower) of Tesu with lukewarm ghee gives relief in bloody piles. By eating it continuously for a few days, the piles dry up.
9. Diarrhea:
Taking about 650 mg to 2 grams of gum of Tesu and mixing a little cinnamon and opium (equal to a grain of rice) in it, stops diarrhea.
Mixing one spoon of decoction of Tesu seeds and one spoon of goat milk and then eating it 3 times a day gives relief in diarrhea.
10. Swelling:
By making a bundle of Tesu flower and tying it, swelling is cured.
11. Arthritis (Joint Pain):
Grind the seeds of Tesu finely and apply it with honey on the affected area to get relief from arthritis.
12. Bandganth (Knot):
Tying a bundle of Tesu leaves gives relief in Bandganth. Drinking 3 to 5 grams of the bark of the root of Tesu with milk gives relief in Bandganth.
13. Swelling of the testicles:
By making a bundle of Tesu flower and tying it below the navel, the diseases of the urinary bladder (the place where urine collects) are cured and the swelling of the testicles is also cured.
Grind the bark of Tesu and give it in the amount of about 4 grams with water in the morning and evening to stop the enlargement of the testicles.
14. Cholera:
Make a paste by grinding or rubbing 10 grams of Tesu fruit and 10 grams of Kalmi Shora in water. Then apply it on the pelvis of the patient. Cholera is cured by applying this paste on the pelvis of the patient repeatedly.
15. Vajikarana (Sex Power):
Consuming 5 to 6 drops of Tesu root juice twice a day stops involuntary semen discharge (premature ejaculation) and increases sexual power.
Massaging the penis except the suture and glans with the oil of Tesu seeds cures all types of impotence in a few days and increases sexual power.
16. Contraception:
Burn Tesu seeds and make them ash and mix half the amount of asafoetida in this ash. Consuming 3 grams of this at the beginning of menstruation and for a few days after that destroys the power of conceiving in a woman.
Mix 10 grams of tesu seeds, 20 grams of honey and 10 grams of ghee, soak cotton in it and make a wick. Keeping this in the vagina 3 hours before intercourse prevents pregnancy.
