Introduction
Butter is extracted by churning curd. Butter is very soft to touch. Butter is like nectar for people of all ages, young and old. Fresh butter is tasty and is digested faster than ghee. Its consumption leads to the formation of new cells in the body. Those who consume it regularly do not need to wear glasses.
Properties
Consumption of butter increases semen and removes the defects of bile and air. Its consumption increases the digestive power. Butter is light to digest and it immediately forms blood, butter is beneficial in diseases of piles and cough. Cow's milk butter is most beneficial. It increases sexual power, improves the complexion of the body and increases strength (Balvardhak). Diarrhea, gas, bile and blood diseases are cured by the use of butter. Butter made from goat's milk is sweet, astringent, light, beneficial for the eyes and is a source of energy. It cures diseases like tuberculosis, cough, diabetes, gulma (gas), pain, eye disease, fever, jaundice and white spots.
Harmful effects
Fresh butter is more nutritious for the body. Butter that has been stale for many days becomes salty, pungent and sour. Its consumption causes vomiting, piles, leprosy, mucus and obesity. Hence, stale butter should not be consumed.
Treatment for various diseases
1. Tuberculosis (TB):
Eating butter is beneficial for patients suffering from tuberculosis.
2. Burning sensation in hands and feet:
Mixing butter and sugar candy in equal quantity and taking 2 spoons of it every morning and evening gives relief from burning sensation in hands and feet.
3. Fever:
Consuming cow milk butter and sugar candy cures chronic fever, eating butter mixed with honey and gold leaf gives relief in tuberculosis and generates strength in the body.
4. Piles:
Consuming cow milk butter and sesame seeds gives relief in hemorrhoids (piles).
Eating butter mixed with honey and sugar candy cures bleeding piles.
Eating butter, saffron and sugar candy gives relief in bleeding piles.
Take out butter from curd, then mix a little rock salt and cumin seeds in its buttermilk and drink it, hemorrhoids (piles) disease gets cured.
5. Burning sensation in eyes:
Applying cow milk butter on eyes relieves burning sensation in eyes.
If Khurasani Ajwain milk or Bhilwa has fallen in eyes, then applying cow milk butter as kajal in eyes cures burning sensation in eyes.
Consumption of approximately one fourth of 1 gram Swarn Basant Malti with butter and sugar candy in the morning and evening cures diseases like burning sensation in eyes, accumulation of mud in eyes, weak eyesight etc.
6. Hair diseases:
Massaging head with turmeric mixed with butter is beneficial for hair.
7. Teething:
Rubbing butter on gums of children helps in easy eruption of teeth.
8. Night blindness (not being able to see at night):
Give approximately one fourth of 1 gram Yashad (zinc) Bhasma (ash) with butter, cream or honey in the morning and evening. Applying it to the eyes cures Pittik, night blindness (not being able to see at night) caused by bile.
9. Mouth ulcers:
Make powder of Chirmi flower and mix it with ghee or butter and apply it on the ulcers. Applying it 2 to 3 times daily on the ulcers cures the ulcers soon.
10. Stuttering, stammering:
Make powder of black pepper and mix it with butter and eat it every morning. Its daily use stops stammering.
Stuttering caused by tongue is cured by licking butter mixed with sugar 3 to 4 times a day.
11. Bloody diarrhea:
Bloody diarrhea (Rakta-tisar) is cured by licking cow butter mixed with honey.
12. Aam Rakt (Dysentery):
A dysentery patient gets relief by licking butter and then drinking buttermilk (lassi).
13. Paralysis:
Face paralysis is cured by eating butter and Urad balls for 7 days.
14. Sleepiness:
Giving 10 grams of Choti Chandad (Sarpagandha) with 1/4th of 1 gram of butter or cream to the patient at bedtime helps in getting good sleep.
