Yoga For Diarrhea Treatment

Introduction- Diarrhea is a common symptom whose increase can lead to diseases ranging from minor to serious. In diarrhea, the patient has to go to the toilet frequently. Normally, about 10 liters of liquid goes into the duodenum every day, out of which 1.5 liters is digested by the small intestine and the remaining part is digested by the large intestine. Finally, the remaining 100 grams of liquid comes out of the anus in the form of stool. According to doctors, the excretion of more than 250 grams of stool in 24 hours is called dysentery, whereas in reality, weighing of stool is necessary in cases of chronic dysentery. There are many causes of dysentery and according to doctors, dysentery is of 2 types-

  • Acute dysentery
  • Chronic dysentery
Acute Diarrhoea- This diarrhoea varies from mild to acute and can last for less than 3 weeks. This diarrhoea is mostly caused by eating infected items, bacteria and medicines. This disease is caused by consuming food items cooked or stored in the wrong manner. This disease is also caused by drinking contaminated water and eating rotten food. Complaints of colitis and dysentery also arise due to antibiotic medicines. The nature of dysentery helps in differentiating its infectious causes. These diseases are divided into different parts such as- Non-inflammatory diarrhoea- This diarrhoea consists of watery, bloodless diarrhoea, in which symptoms like cramps around the navel, belching, nausea or vomiting, burning sensation in the small intestine etc. emerge. Such a condition is caused by toxicity-producing bacteria or other elements that disturb the normal absorption and expulsion process of the small intestine. Inflammatory diarrhea- Fever and blood in stool during diarrhea indicate that intestinal tissue has been damaged due to poisoning (visha) or infection. These elements are mainly related to the large intestine. Internal fever (typhoid fever or enteric fever)- Typhoid fever is a serious chronic disease which initially occurs in the form of high fever for a long time. In this disease, depression, confusion, respiratory symptoms emerge. The causes of chronic diarrhea can be identified in many ways- Hypertensive diarrhea (diarrhea) - In this diarrhea there is a lack of lactose (milk sugar) in the body. Malabsorptive diarrhea - In this diarrhea there is mucosal disease of the small intestine, inadequate functioning of the pancreas, intestinal surgery and overgrowth of bacteria in the intestines. Fluid conditions arise due to the decrease of increased intestinal absorption. Inflammatory conditions arise due to inflammatory disease of the intestines. Autonomic disorder occurs due to abnormal automatization rate of the intestines. Chronic infection develops due to long-term infection of parasites.
