Introduction:-
It occurs in human when brain does not get enough (proper amount) blood, If brain does not receive proper amount of oxygen (blood), it is not able to function properly. If any type of blockage occurs in its way, apoplexy occurs. Brain cells start dying if it does not get oxygen (blood) for more than 3 minutes and apoplexy occurs. There are two types of apoplexy and both types can be responsible for death.
If only ½ section of brain gets enough blood (oxygen), it is called chira (cellular membrane covering the skin) apoplexy. It occurs in human when cellular membrane gets trapped in the blood vessels of brain. In this attack, symptoms appear gradually sometimes suddenly.
The other type of apoplexy occurs when there is an injury to the brain that causes internal bleeding in the brain due to bursting of blood vessels or weakened blood vessels. This helps in the accumulation of blood in the brain resulting in increased pressure in that place and the cells responsible for some essential functions start dying. This type of attack (apoplexy) is very dangerous and it can also be responsible for the death of the patient.
Causes:-
- Rapid circulation of blood in the brain.
- Contraction of blood vessels or blockage of it due to retaining excess fat in the blood vessels.
- High blood pressure.
- Too much pressure in the blood vessels of the brain.
- Injury to the brain due to anything.
- Smoking and taking alcohol excessively.
- Using excess abortifacient peels.
- Hereditary causes.
- Obesity, stress and mental causes.
- Taking anti-destructive medication.
- Taking drugs responsible for lack of appetite.
- Diabetes or heart disease.
- Long-term hunger.
Symptoms:-
When apoplexy occurs, the patient suddenly loses vision, loss of speech and consciousness, symptoms of paralysis are found in parts of the face, the body becomes insensitive with loss of control over movements, vomiting occurs or the patient feels the urge to vomit, the patient feels headache suddenly and faints. The body starts feeling very weak with indisposition.
What we should do or should not do in case of apoplexy (shock):-
If the attack of this disease occurs occasionally, then the patient should exercise regularly and he should try to maintain the health of his body.
When this disease attacks, the patient should immediately go to a doctor or he should get treatment after calling at home.
The patient should exercise according to his condition and disease. For this, he should also consult a doctor.
If fat is accumulating in the blood-vessels, then the patient should try to reduce it as per the doctor's advice.
The patient should never try to smoke or take alcohol or narcotics, as it can make the patient's condition more serious.
The patient should take fat in small amounts or avoid it in his diet. So, he should not use dairy products, cheese, chocolate or animal fat.
He should be careful about his diet and water.
Do not use hydrogen fat like- ghee, coconut oil, butter, margarine, palm oil or vegetable oil (Vasana oil), etc.
Yolk (yellow part of an egg) or yolk products should not be taken.
The patient should take sunflower oil or soybean oil.
The patient can use milk without cream if needed. Paneer can also be eaten by cream less milk.
Gulab jamun, mawa chocolate or jambu (Jamun), etc. should be eaten.
Meat of any kind should not be taken, but meat without fat can be eaten. Clean the chicken properly before cooking it.
Do not eat prawns, crabs, rohu (a type of fish).
Meat of pig, powa or ham should not be eaten.
Use flour of maize, fine flour etc. in small quantity.
Eatables can be made less fatty by roasting or boiling.
To make the attack less effective, it is beneficial to use magnesia, vitamin E and D or potassium.
To cure the headache of a patient suffering from apoplexy, use hot fomentation.
Women who are suffering from hereditary attack of apoplexy should not take contraceptive peels.
Careful about the hygiene of the room in which the apoplexy patient is kept.
The skin of the patient should be kept clean and dry.
Salads, flatbreads of wheat flour, green vegetables etc. should be taken.
Mental stress, work load (pressure) or too much hard work should be avoided.
Non-stick utensils should be used for cooking so that fat and oil consumption is minimal (as less as possible).
If a person is already a diabetic patient, then first of all, he should treat this disease and then apoplexy.
