It is not only a symbol of faith for us but also a treasure of health. But apart from religious importance, Tulsi is also used as a medicine. It is used to treat many diseases. Tulsi is an effective medicine for many diseases ranging from cold and cough.

Tulsi and its various medicinal properties have a special place in Ayurveda.
Tulsi is also considered similar to Sanjeevani Booti. In Ayurvedic medicine, every part of the Tulsi plant has been described as beneficial for health. Tulsi's root, its branches, leaves and seeds all have their own importance. Usually two types of Tulsi are seen in homes, one whose leaves are slightly dark in color and the other, whose leaves are light in color. Tulsi purifies the body as well as the environment and also helps in balancing the environment.

Uses and benefits of Tulsi


Liver problems- Eating 10-12 leaves of Tulsi every morning after washing them with lukewarm water is very beneficial in liver problems.


In case of stomach ache- Mix one spoon of Tulsi leaves with water and make a thick paste and apply this paste around the navel and stomach, you will get relief.

Tulsi strengthens the heart-
Grind ten Tulsi leaves, five black peppers and four almonds and take it with one spoon of honey in half a glass of water, all types of heart diseases are cured.
Grind 4-5 Tulsi leaves, juice of two Neem leaves in 2-4 spoons of water and take it every morning on an empty stomach for 5-7 days, high blood pressure is cured.

Digestive problems- In case of gas (constipation) problem, boil 10-15 Tulsi leaves in 200 ml of water and make a decoction, then add a pinch of rock salt to that decoction and drink it.


In case of fever-
Mix one spoon of basil leaves powder and one spoon of cardamom powder in two cups of water and boil it and make a decoction and drink it 2-3 times a day. Boil till only one cup of water remains.
For taste, you can also add milk and sugar if you want.

Cold and cough- Its leaves are helpful in clearing phlegm. Chewing its leaves with ginger at regular intervals provides relief from cold and cough.

Respiratory problems-
Boil honey, ginger and basil leaves in a glass of water and make a decoction and drink it.
This decoction provides relief from bronchitis, asthma, phlegm and cold.

Heart disease- Such patients should consume it daily, because it reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood.

Ear ache- Fry its leaves in mustard oil and add garlic juice, cool it a little and put 2-3 drops in the ear, you will get relief from pain immediately.


Tulsi is an effective medicine for eye diseases-
Night blindness is cured by putting two drops of Shyam Tulsi leaf juice in the eyes for 14 days. Yellowness of the eyes is cured. It removes redness of the eyes. Applying Tulsi leaf juice in eyes like Kajal improves eyesight.


In case of dizziness-
Mixing the juice of its leaves in honey and licking it stops dizziness.

Enhances beauty-
Make a paste by mixing Tulsi and lemon juice in equal quantity and apply it on the face, it cures freckles and pimples as well as improves the complexion of the face.
