Introduction:-
This is not a physical disease but a type of mental illness and untrue imagination. When this disease occurs in a person, he has a concept in his mind as if some dangerous disease has occurred, as a result of which he thinks and falls in anxiety all the time. This is called 'hypochondriasis'.
The patient suffering from this disease thinks about his health all the time, as a result of which he gets troubled with indigestion or any other stomach diseases.
Causes-
This disease is hereditary and is characterized by lack of interest about sexual intercourse, extreme weakness in the body, sperms become weak; using their imaginary power, live as a sloth, etc.
Symptoms:-
This disease occurs gradually in adolescents or during or after menstruating period or after becoming a widow. Other symptoms are also found in hypochondriasis patient such as heart palpitations even in the absence of any heart disease; Fainting due to fainting, upset stomach, over anxiety about own body, desire to commit suicide or kill others, vertigo, any imaginary delusions, loss of appetite, lack of sleep, flatulence, constipation, lack of blood (anemia), after all, the patient has died. In some patient, such symptoms appear gradually and remain in their body throughout life.
Treatment of this disease with different medicines:-
1. Cimicifuga- If hypochondriasis patient feels weakness due to loss of sperm, then for the treatment of this disease, using Cimicifuga 1x is very effective.
2. Hyoscyamus- If hypochondriasis is caused by imagining things which do not exist or there is madness of only one thing such as feeling sickness in his body but actually having no sickness and thinking about that sickness day and night, then using Hyoscyamus 3 is very effective for the treatment of such symptoms of the patient.
3. Nux-vomica- If the patient has the following symptoms, such as lack of interest to do any work, malnutrition of duodenum with constipation, violent mental disturbances for some time, vertigo, sleeplessness, excess bodily weakness and paralysis like symptoms and difficulty in breathing.
4. Calca-carb- The patient feels as if his sense organs have been destroyed and feels pain in the chest but actually has not suffered. Many types of other symptoms are also found in the patient apart from the above symptoms like reducing mental peace, feeling tired, fear, headache which makes the patient faint, vomiting of sour water, etc. In this way, Calca-carb 30 or 200 can be used to cure such a patient. One dose each should be taken in the morning and evening.
5. Stannum- Pain occurs in the head of the patient with the head being hot but the lower part of the body remains cold, vomiting occurs all the time, abdominal pain occurs and the patient feels some relief from this pain by sitting, which also occurs in the stomach; when the patient walks a little, he gets tired and wants to rest but it starts again after sitting, etc., Stannum 6 should be used for the treatment of such symptoms of the patient.
7. Staphysagria- Symptoms like sadness, self-emission and impotence are found in the patient with hypochondriasis. Thus, taking Staphysagria 6 is beneficial to cure the disease of such a patient.
9. Anacardium and Bareriana- If the hypochondriasis patient suffers from burning sensation with nervous weakness, it is advisable to use Anacardium and Bareriana. As drugs- China, Anacardium, Lachesis, Moschus, Phosphorus, Platina, Tarentula, Puls, Merc, Natrum-phos, etc. can be used for the treatment of hypochondriasis.
Other treatments additional to the use of drugs:-
The patient suffering from this disease should walk in the morning and evening. If mental peace is provided.
He should do a little labour before taking bath.
We should try to explain to the patient that this is not a true disease but imaginary.
We should try all the time to make the patient sleep and for this, medicine should be given.
