Introduction:-When the testicle gland is swollen (enlarged) due to accumulation of water, it is called 'Hydrocele'. Generally, it becomes bigger on the full moon day and 11th moon day (Ekadashi) than on other days. When the excess water gets together in the testicle, it gets inflated like a balloon. In such a situation, sometimes the water has to be brought out by surgery (operation).
Causes:-
There are many causes of this disease- such as injury to the testicle, pain in it, swelling of its veins, poor health or inflammation etc. In some cases, it can also be hereditary. Sometimes, pain does not occur in case of hydrocele, but it keeps on increasing.
Use of medicines in case of hereditary hydrocele:-
1. Abroten- 3 to 30 potency of this medicine is used to cure infantile hydrocele.
2. Bryonia:- If the child is suffering from hydrocele since childhood, Bryonia 3 should be taken at an interval of every 4-5 hours. If the hydrocele is due to injury, Arnica 3 can be used.
Use of different medicines in case of hydrocele caused due to other causes:-
1. Arnica- If the testicles are enlarged due to injury, it is beneficial to take Arnica 12 at an interval of every 4-5 hours.
2. Bryonia- In case of hydrocele, if the patient feels shooting or stabbing like pain while sitting, then taking Bryonia is very useful.
3. Graphites:- In case of swelling of the testicles, Graphites can be used. 30 potency of this medicine should be used to cure this disease.
If symptoms like dryness of the membrane of the testicle, swelling of the reproductive organs, burning sensation in the left testicle, eruptions appear on the membrane of the testicle, swelling at night (sometimes), etc. are found in the patient then taking Graphites 6 or 30 is a suitable remedy.
4. Rhododendrun- This medicine is used in acute hydrocele especially in swelling of the right testicle. If pain also occurs in acute hydrocele, then Rhododendrun 3x or 6 should be taken. If this fails, then RHU-TOX should be taken.
5. Silesia- With swelling of the testicles, if sweat comes on the reproductive organs, itching occurs, sweat comes on the forehead, the body of the patient is lean and he is cold and he is cold, etc., Silesia 30 should be taken.
If the testicles are enlarged on full moon (Poonima) or no moon (Amavasya), Silicea 6 should be used.
6. Spungia- If the testicles have become enlarged and have changed into red appearance after swelling and the patient feels as if it would fall down, then Spungia 2x or 3 should be used.
7. RHUS-TOX- If pain in testicles occurs during rainy or winter season, then RHU-TOX 30 may be used.
8. Hamamelis- If the veins of spermatic cords begin to swell with swelling of testicles, then Hamamelis 1x should be taken.
9. Rhododendrun- If the hydrocele is acute, the right testicle is obsessed (sick) with pain which increases before rain or dark, taking Rhododendrun 3x or 6 is very useful.
10. Pulsatilla- This medicine is used in disease relating to testicles, especially if the left testicle is obsessed. If the testicles are gradually growing (enlarged) without feeling pain, taking Pulsatilla 30 relieves the pain and removes its swelling.
Apart from the use of the above medicines, other medicines are also used- Rhus-Tox 6, APIS 6, SULFUR 30 or IOD 6, etc.
