Introduction:-
If a person is drowning in water or having difficulty breathing in water, then inform others about him or her before giving him first aid and then start giving first aid. One thing should be kept in mind that you should not give your hand, leg or wrist etc. to the drowning person because he can pull you under water as well. You should try to keep the head, neck, straight and above the water of the drowning person. You should not try to hold the drowning person in your arms because he is afraid.
Treatment:-
The patient should be made as lying on the stomach.
After that, all the rubbish should be brought out with the help of finger.
The breathing tube and blood circulation should be checked.
After that, the head should be turned and the chin should be made.
The lower jaw of the patient should be moved forward after opening it.
This makes the tongue go up and the obstruction in breathing will end.
Check the heartbeat of the patient.
Feel and check the breath from the nose to see if it is coming or not.
If there is no breath, fill your lungs with air and close the patient's nose, put your mouth on his mouth and exhale the total air in the patient's mouth.
Even then, if the patient does not start breathing then the activity of giving artificial ventilation should be continued.
After that, still, if the patient is unable to breathe, then it is a breathing problem, so check his pulse.
If the heartbeat or pulse rate is not working, hit the heart area with punch and massage this area.
Continue the activities of giving artificial ventilation and massaging the heart until the doctor arrives.
Children above 8 years of age should be given artificial ventilation at an interval of every 5-5 seconds.
Prognosis:-
- If the drowning person has back or neck injury, then lay him on the stomach by supporting his head.
- Carefully bend the patient's back so that he can breathe easily.
- Now, put on his wet clothes and apply heat to warm him up and cover him with a blanket
