Mint is a medicinal herb which has many benefits. It helps in improving the digestive system and reducing weight, providing relief in nausea, fatigue and headaches etc. Apart from this, there are many benefits and health benefits of mint leaves, such as it plays an important role in getting rid of many problems related to asthma, memory loss and skin care.


The scientific name of mint is Mentha, it is also used to remove bad breath and mouth odor. This herb has been used for its medicinal properties since hundreds of years. The fragrance and taste of mint is enough to fill freshness.

Medicinal properties of mint


Control BP: Mint is helpful in both high and low BP.
A person suffering from high BP should consume mint without adding sugar and salt. Whereas a patient of low BP should consume mint chutney or juice by adding rock salt, black pepper, raisins.

Nectar for stomach: Mint helps in curing many stomach diseases.
To avoid stomach problems, mint should be consumed in some form or the other every day. Taking fresh juice of mint leaves with lemon and honey in equal amounts provides relief in all stomach diseases.

Beneficial in respiratory diseases: Mint has the unique property of removing the mucus accumulated in the lungs from the body.
This is why it removes cough and asthma caused by phlegm. Dry the mint, filter it through a cloth and make a fine powder. Take one teaspoon of this powder with water twice a day.

Useful for dehydration: Mint is very beneficial to avoid the fatal condition of dehydration.
In case of dehydration, mixing mint, onion and lemon juice in equal quantities and drinking it is beneficial. If there is vomiting, diarrhea or dehydration, give half a cup of mint juice to the patient every two hours.

Mint tea provides relief from headache: It is often seen that headache occurs due to poor digestion.
Mint tea can prove to be very beneficial in such a situation, because it helps in digesting food properly due to its digestive properties, which strengthens your digestive system.

Mouth ulcer problem: Make a decoction of mint leaves in case of mouth ulcer problem.
Gargling with this cures the problem of mouth ulcer.

Makes breath fragrant: To remove bad breath, brush your teeth with the powder of dried mint leaves. It not only freshens your breath, but also relieves many other dental problems. Along with this, it also strengthens the gums.


Get rid of pimples: Take some mint leaves and grind them. Add 2-3 drops of lemon juice to it and apply it on the face for some time. Then wash the face with cold water. By doing this for a few days, acne will be cured and the face will also glow.


Mint beneficial in preventing hair fall: Mint helps in reducing the dryness of hair due to its Vata-shamak properties. Due to this, dandruff and hair falling or breaking due to lifelessness is reduced, due to which hair starts growing naturally.


Benefits of mint in toothache:
Who does not have the problem of toothache? Making powder of mint leaves and rubbing the teeth reduces toothache. The medicinal properties of mint help in reducing toothache. The benefits of mint help a lot in relieving pain.


Benefits of mint for earache: Ear-related problems like earache etc. get quick relief with the help of mint. Sometimes, earache starts when you feel cold or water enters your ear. In such a situation, putting mint juice in the ear gives relief.


In case of heat stroke: To avoid heat stroke in summer, make mint and onion chutney and consume it. If it is consumed regularly, the risk of heat stroke is eliminated. In case of nausea during extreme heat or humid weather, boiling one teaspoon of dried mint leaves powder and half small cardamom powder in a glass of water and drinking it is beneficial.
