Introduction: Syphilis is a disease which can be compared to firang disease. In syphilis, bacteria called spirochete pallida, treponema pallidum spread from one person to another. This patient has some stages in which in the first stage it appears in the form of a rash in the front part of the penis, after which pus comes out after bursting. In the second stage there is pain and weakness in the bones. In the third stage there are rashes, tumors and tumours on the body. In this stage the disease is not contagious as it is internal. After the three stages, if symptoms like paralysis, epilepsy and nervous system weakness appear in old age, then the patient reaches the fourth stage. Like the genitals, other parts of the body also have painful wounds and scars which can also be called syphilis. Syphilis is also known by many other names like Atashak, Garmi Ka Rog and Firang. According to Ayurveda, there are 5 types of syphilis- Vatopadansh, Pittopadansh, Kaphopadansh, Sannipaatopadansh and Raktaj Upadansh. 1. Vatopadansh: In Vata syphilis, there are black pimples on the penis. And they cause pain like a needle prick or a weapon. 2. Pittopadansh: In Pittaj syphilis, there are yellow pimples on the penis, water flows out of them. The pimples are red in color like meat and have burning sensation. 3. Kaphopadansh: In Kaphopadansh, there are white or thick pimples on the penis from which thick pus comes out. It also causes swelling, itching and pain. 4. Sannipatopadapan: Pimples of tridoshaj syphilis are of many types and pus of different colors comes out from them. 5. Blood-borne syphilis: Pimples in blood-borne syphilis are black in color, they bleed a lot and symptoms of fever, burning and swelling are seen. Cause: The bacteria called Spirochaeta pallida spread from one person to another through sexual intercourse. This disease also spreads by living with a person suffering from syphilis, eating together and wearing his clothes. Due to fault of parents, this disease can also occur in children. Symptoms of Syphilis: Pimples appear on the front part of the penis, after bursting there is secretion of pus, pain and weakness in bones start, symptoms like rashes, tumors and tumours, paralysis, epilepsy, nervous system weakness are seen on the body. Symptoms of Firang: This disease is of three types- external, internal and external. External Firang is less painful like a boil and bursts like a boil. It is easily cured and less painful. Firang disease occurring inside or outside the bones is a long-lasting disease. New and external Firang disease is easily cured. In syphilis, the body of the patient becomes weak, strength is lost, the nose sinks inwards, the bones become dry and crooked and the digestive power becomes weak. The poison of this disease remains on the body for many days without showing any symptoms and then after 5-7 days a special type of wound appears on the head of the penis of the man or on its side. Firang disease can occur in both men and women. But syphilis disease occurs only in men. Food and abstinence: Shali rice, wheat, old barley, pigeon pea, green gram and lentil, old ghee, sesame oil, hingot, oil, agaru oil, nimba oil, cow urine, fresh buffalo urine, nimba leaves, parwal fruit and leaves, punrnava leaves, cane shung, saffron, nagkeshar and musk are useful for syphilis patients. Kakamachi fruit, karkati fruit, katukoshatak and karanjabeej are also beneficial for this disease but they should not be taken while using mercury made medicines like do not use them with kajjaliya saptashali vati, raskapoor etc. Heavy and new grains, mash, milk, curd and sweets are harmful for syphilis and firang patients. In case of rash in syphilis: 1. Lihsauda: Heat the leaves of Lihsauda or Sambhalu and tie them on the syphilis lump to get relief. 2. Peepal: Heat the Peepal leaves and tie them on the boil from the right side to dry the boil. 3. Kaunch: Grind the seeds of Kaunch in water and apply it 2-3 times a day to get relief from syphilis. 4. Ammonium chloride: Dissolve ammonium chloride in water and apply it on the syphilis rash with cotton to get relief. 5. Aam Haldi: Mix 10-10 grams of Aam Haldi, resin and jaggery, 6-6 grams of Nila Vitriol and Guggul and grind them. Tying them on the syphilis wounds gives relief. 6. Aak: Apply castor oil on the leaves of Aak and heat them lightly on fire and tie them on the boil and immediately after this heat the leaves of Dhatura and apply them on top. This gives quick relief in syphilis and the boils burst and dry up. If arthritis occurs due to syphilis: 1. Kuchla: Grinding Kuchla leaves, dry ginger and sambar horn together and applying it on the affected area cures arthritis pain caused by syphilis (disease caused by heat). 2. Dhatura: Grind Dhatura's Panchang (root, stem, fruit, flower, leaf) in about 300 ml water and make a pulp. Add mustard oil, sesame oil and castor oil 250 ml each to it and cook on fire. When it starts burning, remove the oil and filter it after it cools down. Massaging with this oil cures joint pain caused by syphilis. 3. Chalmongra: In case of syphilis disease spread all over the body and chronic arthritis, starting with 5-6 drops of Chalmongra oil and increasing the quantity to 60 drops cures syphilis. Do not consume chillies, spices and sour things till you consume this medicine. Consuming milk, ghee and butter is beneficial. 4. Colocasia: Put 100 grams of colocasia root in 500 ml of castor oil and cook it. When only a little oil is left, filter it and consume 15 ml of oil with cow's milk in the morning and evening. This cures arthritis caused by syphilis. Boil colocasia root in 5 times water and when three-fourth water is left, filter it and add sugar powder to it and drink it. This calms the pain of Vata caused by syphilis. Grind 5 grams of fresh colocasia root, 5 grams of fresh Russian root and 10 black peppers together and mix them in 200 ml of water and filter it. Consuming this mixture for 7 days cures syphilis (disease caused by heat). Syphilis disease is cured by drinking 50 grams of Indrayan root in 400 ml water after making a decoction and adding sugar candy. 5. Hibiscus: Washing syphilis wounds and rashes with decoction of hibiscus leaves provides relief in the disease. 6. Fig: Making an eighth part decoction of 40 grams of fig bark in one liter of water and adding sugar candy to it and drinking cures all the complaints of syphilis (heat). 7. Aloe vera: Applying aloe vera pulp externally on wounds caused by syphilis provides relief. 8. Bhaangra: Washing the wounds of syphilis (heat-induced disease) with Bhaangra juice or Bhaangra and jasmine leaves juice provides great relief. Grind 3 gms of Bhaangre powder and 1 gms of black pepper powder together with Bhaangre juice and prepare 1 gms tablets. Consuming 1-2 tablets in the morning and evening cures diseases of abdomen, eyes, fistula and syphilis.
Mixing 2 gms of black pepper powder in 10 ml of Bhaangre juice and consuming it in the morning and evening for 21 days cures syphilis. 9. Shyonak: Soak 40 to 50 gms of finely ground dry bark of Shyonak in water for 4 hours and then filter the water and mix mishri in it and consume it in the morning and evening for 7 days. Consume wheat roti, ghee and sugar in the food. 10. Sunflower: Grinding sunflower leaves like khatta and tying it on the boil cures syphilis. 11. Banyan: Grinding Arjun bark, myrobalan, lodhra and turmeric in equal quantity with the roots of banyan tree with water and applying it on boils and wounds of syphilis is beneficial. Applying the milk of banyan tree on boils subsides it. 12. Arni: Drinking 12 ml juice of Arni leaves twice a day for a few days cures old syphilis. Treatment with different medicines- 1. Cinnamon: If the poison of syphilis has spread too much, then drinking decoction or juice of cinnamon mixed with honey is beneficial. Taking 3 to 6 grams of cinnamon powder in the morning and evening provides relief in syphilis. 2. Wild Ushva: In the second stage of syphilis, taking 10 to 20 grams of powder of wild Ushva in the morning and evening provides quick relief in syphilis. 3. Sarsaparilla: Taking 1 to 3 grams of powder of Sarsaparilla in the morning and evening provides relief in syphilis. 4. Antmool: A patient suffering from syphilis should consume 10 to 12 grams of Antmool powder daily. 5. Bhilwa: Mixing 1 to 2 drops of Bhilwa oil in sesame oil and consuming it with milk 1 to 2 times a day provides relief in syphilis. 6. Latakturi: Make pulp of leaves and roots of Latakturi, mix it with sugar candy and eat it every morning to cure syphilis and other venereal diseases. 7. Salai Guggul: No matter how old the syphilis is, eating half to one gram of Salai Guggul with ghee or butter in the morning and evening is definitely beneficial. 8. Aak (Madar): Inhaling the smoke of the bark of the root of Aak cures the heat disease. Consuming the powder of the bark of the root of Aak cures the wound of syphilis (heat disease). Mix 20 grams of Aak root and 40 grams of black pepper and pound them. Mix them with jaggery and make small pills and eat one pill each in the morning and evening. This gives relief in the disease of syphilis. Keep in mind that do not consume sour things with this medicine. Syphilis is cured by grinding 20 grams of burnt wood of Aak and sugar candy and taking 6-6 grams of it morning and evening. Syphilis wound is cured by eating unopened bud of Aak mixed with black pepper and ghee. Syphilis disease is cured by grinding 6 grams of burnt wood charcoal of Aak and mixing the same amount of sugar and 10 grams of ghee in it and eating it. Syphilis is cured by drying the bark of the root of Aak in the shade and making a fine powder. Mixing 5 grams of powdered sugar in it and eating it with water in the morning and evening. Syphilis is cured by boiling 8-10 leaves of Aak in 500 ml of water and when one-fourth remains, filter it and wash the syphilis wound and apply it after grinding and 2-3 grams of bark should be consumed. It cures syphilis (disease caused by heat). Soak one and a half feet long and four fingers wide muslin cloth in the milk of Aak 21 times and dry it. Then burn it in an earthen pot and make it ash. Eating these 3 rice ashes by keeping them in betel leaf gives relief in 7 days. Remember to avoid chillies and spices and consume more ghee. Grind 10 grams of root bark of Aak, 5 grams of black pepper finely and mix 100 grams of jaggery in it and make pills of the size of gram and keep them. First give laxative to the patient and then consume 1 or 2 pills with water in the morning and evening, this gives relief in syphilis. Grind the root of Aak finely and mix sugar in it and consume 1 to 2 grams with fresh water, this cures summer disease. Make powder of 2 grams of root bark of red Aak, root bark of satyanashi and root bark of apamarg 1.5 grams each and smoke it. This gives relief in syphilis.
9. Tidhara Thuhar: Taking decoction of Tidhara Thuhar root in the morning and evening is beneficial in syphilis. 10. Oleander: Grinding white Oleander root in water and applying it cures syphilis-induced wounds, swelling, burning sensation and pain. Grinding the red-flowered Oleander root in water and applying it on the wound is beneficial. Washing the wound with decoction of its leaves is also beneficial. 11. Pittapapda: Taking 25 to 50 ml decoction of the Panchang (root, stem, fruit, flower and leaf) of Pittapapda in the morning and evening cures syphilis and wounds caused by syphilis. 12. Neem: Soak 20 grams of Neem bark and crushed barley in one liter of hot water at night and filter it in the morning and drink 50 ml and clean the syphilis wounds with the remaining water. Keep in mind that the patient should only consume ghee, sugar and thin wheat roti. Tying heated neem leaves on the right side of the boil of syphilis is beneficial. Grating 5 grams of the middle bark of neem and mixing a little sugar candy and drinking it is beneficial for syphilis. Taking 250 ml of neem juice every morning and evening is beneficial in syphilis. Grinding 10 grams of neem leaves with water and mixing 3 grams of carom seeds and drinking it cures syphilis. Taking 10 grams of neem leaves with goat milk lassi cures syphilis. Tying neem leaves on the syphilis wound after applying leech is beneficial. While tying it, take care that the leech does not go inside the wound. Grinding neem, arjun, peepal, kadam, shaal, jamun, banyan, fig and cane and applying it on the wounds cures syphilis. Taking 5 to 10 drops of Neem oil twice a day is beneficial and applying it on wounds is also beneficial. 13. Farhad: Taking 5 to 10 ml of Farhad leaf juice in the morning and evening cures syphilis and all diseases caused by syphilis.
14. Kantkaranj: Take out 15-15 grams of Karanj green leaves and Neem leaves and mix 7-8 grams of ground black pepper in this juice and consume it. This gives quick relief in syphilis (disease caused by heat). On the wounds of the skin caused in the second stage of syphilis, taking 10 to 20 grams of Kantkaranj leaf juice or half to one gram of its root in the morning and evening is beneficial. Mixing some black peppercorns in this mixture and grinding and consuming it gives more benefits. Keep in mind that never consume this medicine on an empty stomach. 15. Gunja: Mixing half gram of Lalgunja leaves, 2 grams of cumin and 10 grams of sugar candy and consuming it morning and evening for 6-7 days is beneficial in syphilis. 16. Ankol (Akot): Grinding the bark of the root of Ankol and consuming half to one gram 3 times a day and applying its seed oil or ground root on wounds cures syphilis and diseases caused by syphilis. 17. Bariyara: Grinding the root of Bariyara and binding it heals wounds quickly. Washing the wound with the decoction of its panchaang (root, stem, fruit, flower, leaf) is beneficial. 18. Churnahar: Taking 40 ml of the extract of the panchaang (root, stem, fruit, flower, leaf) of Churnahar in the morning and evening is beneficial in syphilis.
19. Banana: Drinking 20 to 40 ml of banana juice daily is beneficial in syphilis. 20. Alum: Make a solution of 5% alum in clean water and wash the penis with it to cure syphilis. Take equal quantities of alum, yellow ochre, blue vitriol, diamond astringent, rock salt, Lodhra, Rasout, Haratal, Mansil, Renuka and cardamom and grind them finely and filter them. Mixing these powders in honey and applying it on the wound cures syphilis.
21. Tastumba: Boil the root of Tastumba in 5 times its quantity of water and when 3 times the water remains, add the same amount of sugar to it and drink it to get relief from syphilis and rheumatic pain. 22. Betel Nut: Sprinkling or applying betel nut powder on the wound cures syphilis. 23. Banyan: Burning the leaves of Banyan and eating its ash by putting it in betel leaf gives relief in syphilis. 24. Acacia: Sprinkling fine powder of acacia on syphilis wound gives relief. Soak acacia flowers in cold water at night and mash them in the same water in the morning, filter and drink. This cures syphilis.
Make syrup or decoction of acacia bark and gargle with it, it cures mouth ulcers caused by syphilis. Gargling with syrup, powder or decoction of acacia and plum root cures mouth ulcers caused by syphilis. 25. Talamkhana: Grind 1 gram Talamkhana, 1 gram Bedana and 1.5 grams of cinnamon and eat it with water, it cures syphilis (heat) disease. While using this medicine, eat bland roti for 4-5 days. Ghee, salt and chilli should not be consumed while taking this medicine. 26. Goat's urine: Drinking 10 ml of black goat's urine for 7 days cures skin cracking due to syphilis.
27. Jasmine:
In syphilis, mixing 20 ml of jasmine leaves juice and one-fourth gram of resin powder and drinking it every morning and evening cures the summer disease in 15-20 days. While taking this medicine, the patient should only eat wheat roti, milk, rice, ghee and sugar. Washing syphilis wounds with decoction of jasmine leaves is beneficial. Mixing 20-20 grams of fresh jasmine leaves juice, cow ghee and resin powder and drinking it cures old syphilis (summer disease). 28. Choti Arani: Drinking 12 ml of Choti Arani leaf juice twice a day cures syphilis. Drinking 5 ml of Choti Arani fruit juice every day cures syphilis. 29. Satyanashi (Yellow Dhatura): Grinding 25 grams of Satyanashi root bark and eating it with butter in the morning and evening provides relief in syphilis (summer disease). Consuming 10 ml of Satyanashi (Yellow Dhatura) juice with milk is beneficial. Eating approximately one-fourth gram of Dhatura root by placing it in betel leaf cures syphilis related diseases. 30. Pomegranate: Applying the powder of dried pomegranate bark on syphilis wounds cures syphilis wounds in a few days. Grind 100 grams of fresh pomegranate leaves and boil it in one liter of water and when half the water is left, filter it and apply it on syphilis wounds 2 to 3 times. Drying pomegranate leaves and making powder and eating 10-10 grams of it with water in the morning and evening gives relief in syphilis. 31. Chirchita: Burning chirchita and inhaling the smoke cures syphilis (summer disease) wounds. Mixing 10 ml of chirchita root juice and 8 grams of white cumin powder together and drinking it gives great relief in syphilis. 32. Lime: Mixing 1.80 gm camphor juice in approximately 300 ml lime water and applying it on the boils of Upandash is beneficial. 33. Grass: Drinking decoction of the root of Grass cures the wounds of Syphilis (summer disease). 34. Amaltas: Drinking decoction of Amaltas, Neem, Harad, Baheda, Amla and Chirayta along with Vijaysar and Khairsar cures all types of Upandash (summer disease). Eating 3 gm pulp of Amaltas daily is beneficial in the disease of Upandash (summer disease). Grinding the seeds of Amaltas with water and applying it on the wound of Syphilis cures the wound quickly. 35. Giloy: Drinking 10-20 ml of castor oil mixed with decoction of Giloy provides relief in syphilis. Eating it purifies the blood and also cures arthritis. 36. Triphala: Washing syphilis rash with decoction of Triphala or Bhaangre juice provides relief. Burning Triphala and mixing its ash with honey and applying it on syphilis wounds provides relief.
Take Triphala and black gram in equal quantity and burn it in a pan to make ash. Mix honey in this ash and apply it on syphilis wounds.
Cleaning wounds of Pittaj syphilis by mixing honey in decoction of Triphala provides relief. Mixing 3 grams of Triphala powder in honey and licking it in the morning and evening provides relief in syphilis. 37. Siras: Grind the bark of Siras in water and mix it with Rasout and apply it on wounds to cure syphilis. 38. Chandan: Boil 20 grams of cinnamon in 200 ml water and when little water is left, filter this water and add 10 drops of sandalwood oil to it and drink it. This cures boils and wounds of syphilis. Mix sandalwood oil, chironji oil and turpentine oil in about 10-10 grams quantity, then put 10 drops of it in sugar candy or batasha and take it in the morning with 250 ml raw milk.
39. Reetha: Grind the peel of Reetha and mix it in water and make pills of the size of gram and dry them in shade. Mix 1 pill of this in curd and eat it and then eat some curd on top. Keep in mind that consumption of salt and hot things is harmful while taking this medicine. 40. Bakayan: Grind 70 grams of Bakayan fruit and take 5 grams with milk in the morning and evening. This gives relief in syphilis. 41. Harad: Grind 10 grams of harad peel, 10 grams of amla and 5 grams of roasted borax together and sprinkle it on syphilis wounds. 42. Nila Vitriol: Roast Nila Vitriol and grind it. Soak it in butter or cream in the morning in the quantity of one-fourth gram and take it with hot water, this gives relief in syphilis. 43. Parwal: Mix parwal leaves, neem bark, green giloy and triphala and make a decoction and drink it, this cures syphilis (summer disease). 44. Adhatoda: Grind the bark of the root of Adhatoda with water and make pills of the size of wild plum and consume 1 pill with ghee in the morning. This cures wounds and rashes of syphilis (summer disease). 45. Gorakhmundi: Take equal quantity of Gorakhmundi and Giloy and grind them to make powder. Mix this powder in honey in the morning and evening in the quantity of 4-4 grams and eat it with cold water. This is a very beneficial medicine for the patient suffering from syphilis. 46. Watermelon: Cut a square piece from the ripe watermelon and take it out. Then fill 250 grams of sugar inside the watermelon and put the same piece on top and close the mouth and keep it in the dew at night. In the morning, take out the water from inside the watermelon and drink it. This cures pimples on the penis and burning sensation during urination in syphilis. 47. Henna: Mix 40 ml of juice of henna leaves and 30 grams of sugar candy and drink it for 10-20 days to cure the burning sensation of syphilis (summer disease). 48. Daru Haldi: Mixing Daru Haldi, Rasna, Pundriya, Mulhathi, Deodar, Agar, Kuth and Cardamom and making a decoction and applying it on the wounds of Syphilis (heat related disease) gives relief. Mixing bark of Daru Haldi, Shankhnabhi, Rasout, Lakh, Cow dung, Oil, Ghee, Milk in equal quantity and grinding it finely and applying it on the wounds of Syphilis cures the wounds, swelling, pain and burning sensation of Syphilis. 49. Ochre: Mixing Ochre, Rasout, Majith, Mulhathi, Khus, Padmakh, Chandan and Utpal and applying it cures the wounds of Syphilis. 50. Mensil: Grinding Mansil in honey and applying it on the wounds cures Syphilis (heat related disease) quickly. 51. Mahua: Applying a paste of Mahua, Mulhathi, Devdaru, Agar, Rasna, Kadva, Kut and Padyakh gives relief in Vata syphilis. Mixing these medicines and making a decoction and washing the wound also gives relief in syphilis. 52. Mulhathi: Grinding Mulhathi, Khus, Manjith, Geru, Rasout, Padmakh, Chandan and Lotus in cold water and applying it gives relief in Pittaj syphilis. 53. Bandal: Soak 125 grams of Bandal fruits in water at night and drink it in the morning by mixing it with clean water. 54. Ajwain: Grind 20 grams of Ajwain husk, 20 grams of mustard and 20 grams of black pepper and mix it with water and make pills of the size of plum and consume it.
