Introduction

Paddy is ground in mortar or by machines and its husk is separated. Paddy grains without husk are called rice. Due to rice being cool and energy-boosting, people all over the world use rice as their daily food.
Rice is mainly a crop of the rainy season. Kamod, Pankhali, Panchsal, Amramor, Rajbhog, Jeerasar, Kalisar, Ratisaar, Bersal, Walksal, Rajawal, Hansraj, Basmati, Cardamom, PR 12, PR 13 Sabarmati etc. are the major varieties of thin rice and Jaya, Pant 4 etc. are the major varieties of thick rice. According to Ayurveda, Sathi rice which is ready in only 60 days is considered more beneficial. Sathi rice cures dysentery, dysentery and Mandagni (loss of appetite). These rice are digestive and strength giving and do not produce gas, hence they are considered harmless and nutritious. Rice polished in factories (hammered at home using mortar and pestle) is much better than rice polished in factories. Such rice is sweet and nutritious and very good. Rice is very light and light to digest due to very less fat (snigdhata) element in it. Hence cooked rice and moong dal are beneficial for children and sick people. Mixing pulses with rice reduces its gas producing quality and increases its nutritional quality. Khichdi of pulses like tur, moong and gram etc. is made with rice. Khichdi is more nutritious than just cooked rice. Digestion happens quickly and it tastes more delicious if rice and pulses are cooked separately and mixed and eaten as compared to khichdi. Some people remove the starch of rice while cooking it and throw it out. This is not correct. Rice starch is very cooling and nutritious.

Properties

Rice stops thirst. Makes the body fresh and fat. Increases semen and stops dysentery, cramps, mucus, bloody mucus, bloody diarrhea etc. It destroys kidney and sinus diseases. If we grind rice and rub it on the face, it removes the marks.
Eating its peel is harmful.

Harmful effects

Consuming rice in large quantity causes lumps.

Treatment for various diseases

1. Liver strengthener:

Getting up before sunrise and keeping a pinch of raw rice in the mouth and consuming it with water makes the liver very strong.


2. Heat reliever:

Rice is cold in nature. Eating rice daily in the summer season and in case of heavy heat in the stomach gives coolness to the body.

3. Dysentery and Menorrhagia:

Drinking a glass of rice water mixed with sugar candy cures dysentery and menorrhagia.


4. Diarrhea:

The boiled water of rice cooked in rice is called Maand. It is beneficial for diarrhea. Diarrhea stops by giving half a cup to children and 1 cup to youngsters every hour. It can be given in small quantities to small children.
Consuming this Maand by adding a little salt to it makes it tasty, nutritious and easily digestible. Drinking it in diarrhea is beneficial by adding salt to it. This Maand should not be kept for more than 6 hours.

Mixing rock salt in boiled rice and using it with buttermilk or curd gives relief in diarrhea.


Mixing 2 teaspoons of cooked rice water in 1 cup of water and drinking it every hour is beneficial.

Eating Maand obtained by cooking rice or rice with curd gives relief in diarrhea.

5. Simple method of making Maand:


Grind 100 grams of rice like flour. Boil it in 1 liter of water. After boiling it well, filter it and add salt according to taste. Diarrhea stops by giving half a cup of it to children and 1 cup to young ones every hour. It can be given in small quantities to small children. It is very beneficial in diarrhea.

6. Cholesterol and blood pressure:

Eating rice for a long time reduces cholesterol and blood pressure also remains fine.

7. Boil:

By making a bundle of ground rice in mustard oil and tying it, the boil bursts and the pus comes out.


8. Constipation:

Constipation is cured by eating khichdi of 1 part rice and 2 parts moong dal mixed with ghee.

9. Vomiting during pregnancy:


Take 50 grams of rice and soak it in 250 ml water. After half an hour, add 5 grams of coriander to it.
After 10 minutes, rub it and filter it. Give it to the pregnant woman by dividing it into 4 parts and drinking it 4 times. Vomiting of a pregnant woman stops immediately after using it.

10. Bhang intoxication:

Bhang intoxication goes away by drinking rice water.


11. Burning and obstruction in urination:

Burning and obstruction in urination goes away by mixing sugar in half a glass of rice water.

12. Face pigmentation:


By soaking white rice in water and washing the face with that water, the pigmentation and blackness of the face disappears and the face becomes clear and beautiful.


Make a paste of rice flour. Add 1 pinch of sandalwood powder, 1 pinch of ground turmeric and 2 teaspoons of rose water in it and mix it very well. After this, keep it in the sun for half an hour.
Apply it on the face half an hour before makeup and keep rubbing it well. Later wash your face with lukewarm water and apply makeup. A new beauty will appear on your face.

13. Sheetala (Masurika) fever:


Make rice water and apply it on the boils on the soles of the feet to calm the burning sensation.


14. Vomiting:

Soak rice in water. After 4 hours mash the rice in water and filter it. Then mix a little coriander in the filtered water and drink it, it stops vomiting. It is very beneficial to stop vomiting during pregnancy (at the time of becoming a mother).


Mix 3 teaspoons of Belgiri juice in rice water and drink it, it stops vomiting.

15. Atikshaudha Bhasmak Rog (Excessive hunger):


Make kheer of white rice and white lotus seed in goat milk and consume it, it is beneficial in Bhasmak Rog (feeling hungry repeatedly).

Make kheer by adding 100 grams of white rice in 500 ml camel milk and add ghee to it and eat it, Bhasmak-disease is cured in 12 days.

16. Hiccup disease:

Soak rice chips (roasted on a fire) in water for 10 minutes and grind it.
Make chutney. Mix rock salt and black pepper in it and feed it. This stops hiccups.

17. Diarrhea of ​​pregnant woman:


Diarrhea and duodenum are cured by giving rice sattu to a pregnant woman along with decoction of mango or jamun bark.


18. In case of dysentery:

Eating 2 to 3 grams of rice twice a day cures the disease of the patient suffering from dysentery.

19. In case of bloody diarrhea:

Grind 20 grams of sandalwood in rice water, mix sugar candy and honey and consume it, this cures bloody diarrhea.
Soak 50 grams of rice in 250 ml water. After 2 hours, drinking this water mixed with sugar candy cures the disease of bloody diarrhea (dysentery).

20. Anavarakta (Dysentery):

Boil rice, mix it with curd and add roasted cumin seeds and rock salt as per taste and eat it, this gives relief to the patient of dysentery.
