Introduction

Jambhiri lemon is a type of lemon which is found everywhere in India. The fruit of Jambhiri lemon is similar to the fruit of orange.

Properties

Jambhiri lemon cures Vata, Kapha, Pitta, Shool (pain), Kas (cough), Vomiting, Rheumatism, Agnimandaya (indigestion) and stomach worms.
Apart from this, it cures diseases like throat disease, eye disease, loss of appetite, TB, Pittashool (pain due to bile), Yonidosha (vaginal disease), Malstambha (stool retention) and Vishuchika (cholera) etc.

Harmful effects

Consuming too much of Jambhiri lemon increases bile.


Treatment for various diseases

1. Fever:

Mixing lemon jambhiri juice with water and sugar is beneficial.

2. Scurvy:

Drinking 2-6 ml of lemon jambhiri juice is beneficial.

3. On borax poisoning:

Adding sugar to jambhiri lemon juice and drinking it provides relief from borax poisoning.


4. Acidity:

Drinking jambhiri lemon juice during the evening provides relief from acidity.

5. Skin diseases:

Mixing lemon jambhiri oil with glycerine and applying it on itching and boils is beneficial.

6. Itching:

Mixing sulphur in lemon jambhiri juice and applying it on wet itching provides good relief.


7. Arthritis (Joint Pain):

Gout can be cured by extracting juice of Jambhiri or Kagji lemon and making syrup and drinking it every morning and evening.
