Introduction
Amaranth is a vegetable available throughout the year. It is used in abundance. It is useful in removing bile and phlegm and cough. It is good to drink its juice even in fever. In most of the houses, its vegetable is cooked and eaten, but for its complete benefits, its juice should be extracted and drunk. There are mainly two varieties of amaranth. 1. Red 2. Green The stem of the red amaranth plant is reddish. The lines of its leaves are also red. Its leaves are long, round and not too big, but of medium size. The stem and the entire part of the leaves of the green variety of amaranth plants are green in colour. Its leaves are large. Jal amaranth is its thorny variety. Its properties are increased to some extent but are similar to amaranth. Its panchaang, root and leaves are used as medicine.
Properties
Amaranth has high amount of Vitamin C, Vitamin B and Vitamin A. Amaranth juice is very beneficial in all diseases caused due to deficiency of vitamins. Amaranth juice makes the body healthy and refreshes the body. It cools down the heat and produces pure blood. It prevents thirst. It is beneficial for cough and brings more urine. Amaranth juice is very beneficial in removing weakness after pregnancy or due to excessive menstruation or bleeding due to any reason. Amaranth juice is very beneficial in removing body fatigue, weakness, eye diseases and increasing immunity. It destroys urinary diseases and also increases the amount of urine. Amaranth is a very good poison-eliminating vegetable. If any poison or poisonous medicine is eaten by mistake, then 1 glass of amaranth juice eliminates the effect of that poison. But in such cases, one should also take the advice of a qualified doctor. Amaranth vegetable cures constipation and mouth ulcers. By taking at least 150 ml of raw amaranth juice regularly for 1 month, hair fall stops and new hair starts growing.

Treatment for various diseases
1. Stones:
Eating amaranth leaves vegetable daily dissolves stones and gets out.
2. Appetite:
Amaranth vegetable increases appetite.
3. Erysipelas (Group of small boils):
Grind the leaves of amaranth (genhari) and apply on the skin affected by erysipelas and burning sensation, it relieves the burning sensation.
4. Asthma:
Making amaranth vegetable and feeding it to the asthmatic patient is very beneficial. Mixing juice of 5 gm amaranth leaves with honey and feeding it relieves breathing pain.
5. Bite of mad dog:
When the patient becomes mad after being bitten by a mad dog and starts biting others, in such a condition, grinding 50 gm to 125 gm of the thorny wild amaranth root, dissolving it in water and feeding it repeatedly saves the dying patient. It is an antidote. Its paste is beneficial on all types of poisons and bites. Amaranth is dry and it destroys the effect of intoxication and poison. Amaranth vegetable is also beneficial in hematemesis.
6. Constipation:
Eating amaranth vegetable is beneficial in constipation.
7. Treatment of Abortion:
If 10 to 20 grams of the root of amaranth (Genhari ka saag) is consumed in the morning and evening along with 60 mg to 120 mg of “Heerabol” for only 4 days (during the days of menstruation), then there is no fear of abortion or miscarriage in case of pregnancy.
8. Kidney stones:
By preparing and eating amaranth vegetable every day, the stones dissolve and come out.
9. Piles (hemorrhoids):
Piles are cured by eating amaranth vegetable.
10. Menstruation related disorders:
Dry the amaranth root in the shade and grind it and filter it. About 5 grams of it should be consumed in the morning on an empty stomach about 1 week before the onset of menstruation. When menstruation begins, its consumption should be stopped. This cures all menstrual disorders.
11. Leucorrhoea:
Consuming 3 to 5 grams of powder of amaranth root mixed with honey in rice water cures leucorrhoea. All types of leucorrhoea can be cured by grinding amaranth root with washed rice water and mixing ground rasout and honey in it and drinking it.
12. Menormecta:
Drinking 15 grams of forest amaranth root juice 2-3 times a day cures menorrhagia. Preparing a decoction by mixing amaranth (Genhari ka saag), amla, Ashok bark and Daruhaldi and consuming it 2-3 times a day in the amount of 40 grams gives great benefits. It also relieves the pain of the uterus and also stops bleeding.
13. Breast enlargement:
Mixing the panchaang of amaranth (genhari) vegetable with pigeon pea lentils and giving it to a woman increases her breasts.
14. All types of stomach diseases:
Preparing and eating amaranth vegetable provides relief from stomach diseases.
15. Arthritis:
Amaranth vegetable should be consumed to relieve joint pain of arthritis patients.
16. High blood pressure:
Amaranth, ash gourd, tinda, bottle gourd etc. vegetables should be consumed in large quantities for high blood pressure patients, because they have the power to control blood pressure.
17. Heart disease:
Drinking the juice of green amaranth vegetable is beneficial in high blood pressure.
18.. For ulcer (nasal):
If there is a lot of pain in the nasal wound and it is not healing, then tying a bandage of amaranth leaves on it is beneficial.
19. Nahrua (Syanu):
The patient of Nahrua gets cured by grinding the root of amaranth and tying it on the wound. The patient of Nahrua gets cured by eating amaranth vegetable.
20. Side effects of blood pressure, mucus, piles and heat:
Eating amaranth vegetable daily cures blood pressure, mucus, piles and heat diseases.
