Stoppage of menstruation before the menopause period is called Nishtaartava (stoppage of menstruation). That is, the cessation of menstruation in women is called Nishtaartava.
Even if the mouth of the uterus turns to one side, menstruation does not occur.
Once menstruation starts, it continues regularly every 4 weeks until the age of menopause. Stoppage of menstruation during pregnancy is natural. If it stops at other times, then it should be treated considering it a disorder of the uterus.
Reasons:
Menstruation i.e. menstruation stops in women due to lack of blood in the body, thickening of blood due to deformity of doshas due to cold, closing of the mouth of the veins of the uterus, swelling or wounds in the uterus, development of a wart in the path of menstruation coming out of the uterus, excessive obesity and the mouth of the uterus turning to one side and excessive stress etc. Symptoms: All young women menstruate every month and a type of blood called raj oozes out of their vagina for 3 to 5 days. This is known by various names like menstruation or Rajodarshan or Ritusrav etc. The time of menstruation usually starts from the age of 12 years in girls and ends at the age of about 45 to 50 years. The mouth of the uterus remains open for 16 days after menstruation. There is a possibility of pregnancy by having sexual intercourse during this period. After this, pregnancy does not occur. A woman is called Ritumati for 16 days after the menstruation stops.
Food and abstinence:
For the patient of dysmenorrhoea (menstruation coming with pain) and Nishtaarava, the consumption of buttermilk (whey), curd, kanji and fish is harmful. Hence, these should not be consumed.
Treatment with different medicines-
1. Bijak: Consuming approximately 6 to 12 grams of Bijak wood pulp with cold water twice a day provides relief to a woman from the disease of blocked menstruation.
2. Sesame: Make a decoction by taking 3-3 grams of black sesame, trikuta and bhringi. Mixing jaggery or red sugar in this decoction and drinking it every morning and evening opens up the blocked menstruation.
In case of obstruction of menstruation, consuming 40 to 80 ml decoction of the Panchang (root, stem, leaf, fruit and flower) of sesame or 10 to 20 grams of sesame powder 2-3 times a day resumes menstruation. It has a contractive effect on the uterus.
3. Lotus: Grinding and eating the lotus root resumes menstruation.
4. Hibiscus: Grind red hibiscus flowers and consume them with water to get menstruation.
5. Cumin: Mix 20 grams of black cumin, 100 grams of castor pulp and 10 grams of dry ginger and grind them finely. Apply a pleasant warm paste on the stomach of the affected woman. By doing this continuously for several days, the pain in the tubes goes away and menstruation starts.
6. Malakangni:
By grinding and filtering both the leaves of Malakangni and the wood of Vijaysar in milk and drinking, the stopped menstruation starts again.
Malkangni leaves should be ground and fried in ghee and fed to women. This starts the stopped menstruation in women again.
7. Radish: Take radish seeds, carrot seeds and fenugreek seeds in the amount of 50-50 grams and grind, sieve and make a powder. Consuming this powder with warm water stops the menstruation cycle.
8. Carrot: Grind only carrot seeds on a stone mortar and filter it in water and drink it, this stops the menstruation cycle.
9. Dantimool: Grind Dantimool, Katutumbi seeds, Choti Peepal, Manphal root and Mulhathi very finely and make a wick with thuhar milk and keep it in the vagina, this starts the menstrual cycle again.
9. Dry Ginger: Take dry ginger, black pepper, Choti Peepal and Bharangi in the amount of 10-10 grams and grind, sieve and keep 10 grams of asafoetida roasted in ghee. One-fourth of 1 gram of this should be consumed with fresh water or cow's milk in the morning and evening. By using it continuously for 4-5 weeks, the disease of Nishtartava (stopping of menstruation) ends.
10. Bhangi: Grind and mix Bhangi, dry ginger, black sesame and ghee and drink it regularly for a few days. This restarts the stopped menstruation.
11. Jaggery: Make a decoction of black sesame with jaggery, cool it and drink it, it also restarts the menstruation which has been stopped for a long time.
12. Ajmod: By consuming 1 to 4 grams of powder of Ajmod fruit in the morning and evening, menstrual discharge starts. Note: It should not be given to a pregnant woman.
13. Kalonji (Mangarela): By consuming half to 1 gram of Kalonji (Mangarela) 2-3 times a day, menstruation starts. Pregnant women should not consume it.
14. Soya: Mixing 40 ml of soya decoction with jaggery and consuming it in the morning, afternoon, evening and before going to bed at night starts menstruation. If menstruation comes but it is not coming freely, then prepare decoction of soya with bamboo leaves and mix old jaggery with it and consume it daily to get menstruation flowing freely.
15. Ishwarmul (Rudrajata): Mixing one-fourth gram to two grams of powder of panchaang of Ishwarmul (Rudrajata) with peepal and asafoetida and consuming it in the morning and evening starts menstruation. It should not be given during pregnancy otherwise abortion will happen.
16. Garlic: Taking 30 drops of garlic juice with milk twice a day or 2 to 3 ml of garlic decoction with ghee restarts the menstruation stopped due to Tivbhari. Note: It should not be given to a pregnant woman as it may cause abortion.
17. Guggul: If the menstruation is stopped due to any uterine defect, then making pills of one-fourth gram to one gram of Guggul with Aluva (aloe) and Kasis and giving it in the morning and evening restarts the menstruation.
18. Nagarmotha: If the menstruation is stopped due to any uterine defect, then giving juice of Motha or Nagarmotha tuber in the amount of about 3 to 6 grams 2-3 times a day restarts the menstruation. Only fresh fruit of Nagarmotha should be used.
19. Dantrisha: Make a decoction of Dantrisha with cloves or cinnamon and take about 40 grams of it every morning, afternoon and evening to restart the stopped menstruation.
20. Farhad: Take 10 ml juice of Farhad leaves in the morning and evening to restart the stopped menstruation due to Tivbhari.
