Introduction:
In this disease, a thread like discharge like greenish yellow, white, thin or thick fetid substance keeps coming out of the nose. The patient suffers a lot. In this case, the smelling power of a person is reduced.
Treatment of fetid discharge coming from nose:-
1. Merc-Sol- If yellow or green mucus is secreted from the nose and it takes spots after touching the clothes; fetid pus is secreted from the nose; the symptoms of the disease get aggravated in summer or rainy season. Thus, using Merc-Sol 6 or 30 is very effective in such symptoms.
2. Kali-Bichrome- If foul smelling, concentrated, greenish yellow and thread like discharge comes out from the nose; lesions are appeared on the lining between both the nostrils; swelling comes inside the nose and headache goes on etc., Kali-Bichrome 3x or 30 should be taken in such symptoms.
3. Mezereum- If the nose becomes dry, there is scratchiness in the interior of the nose and the power of smelling is reduced etc., Mezereum 6 or 30 should be given to the patient.
4. Silicea- If the power of smelling is reduced in the patient, a hole is present in the layer between both the nostrils, the nose is blocked etc., Silicea 6 or 30 should be taken in such symptoms.
5. Pulsatilla- Due to swelling of the mucus membrane inside the nose, the power of smelling is lost and concentrated secretion starts coming out of the nose. Thus, for the treatment of such symptoms, Pulsatilla 30 should be used.
6. Argentum Nitricum- If the patient has lost his smelling power due to typhoid, it is advisable to use Argentum Nitricum 3 to 30.
7. If this fails, Natrum-Mur 30 should be used. It will provide relief.
8. Arum-Met- If the power of smelling is lost due to damage to the bone structure of the nose, old catarrh or the presence of syphilis poison in the blood etc., then Arum-Met should be used.
9. Lemna Minor- In case of abscess in the nose, swelling and burning sensation etc., the patient is not able to smell anything. Thus, Lemna Minor 3 to 30 should be used for the treatment of such symptoms.
10. Thuja- Sometimes, the power of smelling is also lost due to swelling in the membrane inside the nose. Therefore, taking Thuja is very effective.
11. Ammonia Mur- In cases of stuffy nose, coughing and lost power of smelling, using Ammonia-Mur 3x is very effective.
12. Magnesia-Mur- If the power of smelling is decreased after catarrh or influenza etc., then Magnesia-Mur 6 should be used.
Foul smell from nose:-
1. Belladonna- If the patient is not able to tolerate even the foul smell especially of vomit, then taking Belladonna 3 to 30 is very effective.
2. Aconite- If the patient feels a fetid smell of anything in his nose, then using Aconite 30 is beneficial.
3. Graphites- If a person is not able to take the smell of flowers or other things, then Graphites 30 should be taken.
4. Arum-Met- If the patient feels a faint (mild) smell as opposed to harsh (strong) one, then he should take Arum-Met.
5. Carbolic Acid- If the patient is not able to tolerate any kind of smell and if he becomes irritable temperamental, etc., then Carbolic Acid 3 should be taken.
