Snake Bite Treatment

Introduction:- If a snake bites a person, first of all, it is necessary to know about the snake whether it is poisonous or not. This can be checked by observing the teeth marks on the snake bite area. But, if it is difficult to detect, treatment should be started as in the case of poisonous. Symptoms- The part of the body on which the snake bites gets swollen along with other symptoms such as violent pain, vertigo, unconsciousness, stumbling, profuse sweating, nausea and then delirium and paroxysmal seizures. Awareness:- In most of the snake bite cases, the person dies due to fear and not from the poison. We should make the patient lie down in a comfortable place, because the poison spreads throughout the body by movement. The affected part should not be iced because in most of the cases, the pain becomes violent and the mortality rate of the cells of that part becomes high. If the snake bites on a person's hand, a piece of cloth or thin rope should be tied 2-4 inches above the place of bite. If the swelling reaches a bandage, it should be loaded at an interval of every 15-20 minutes. The snake venom can be removed by sucking or cutting that area. But, remember that the sucker should not have any type of wound in his mouth, tongue or lips etc. If the coral snake bites a person, the affected part should not be washed with soap and water and that area should never be rubbed. Do not allow the patient to sleep or unconscious. For this purpose, we should talk to him continuously or shake him. Precautionary:- We should do the following tests of the victim like- A.B.C. means of testing the air tube, breathing pipe, blood circulation, etc. To clear the air pipe, the excess saliva should be removed from it by opening the mouth of the patient. Spread the lower jaw of the patient by lifting it; this will help the tongue to come up. To check whether the victim is breathing or not, feel the nasal air or the movement of his chest. If the victim is not breathing, give him artificial respiration by the following steps-

  • First, close the nose of the patient and then give your breath by placing your mouth on his mouth.
  • After this activity, observe the movement of his chest and if no movement is found, repeat the activity of giving artificial respiration.
  • Check the pulse of the patient and try to listen to the heartbeat.
  • If no heartbeat is found, hit the chest with your fist.
Heart massage:-
  • We keep giving artificial respiration to the patient until a doctor comes and massages his heart continuously.
  • After giving artificial respiration for the second time, massage the heart 15 times and then check his pulse rate.
  • If the patient is not breathing but the pulse is running, give artificial respiration.
  • Adults or children above 8 years of age should be given artificial respiration at an interval of every 5-5 seconds.
  • The pulse rate should be checked once after giving 12 continuous artificial respirations.
