Benefits Of Cinnamon

 


Cinnamon is a spice that can be easily found in almost every Indian kitchen. Cinnamon is not just a spice but also a medicine, the anti-oxidant properties present in it protect you from many diseases like arthritis, diabetes, etc. The cinnamon tree is always green and small bush-like. The bark of its stem is picked and dried. Its shape is round like a Kavelu, thick, soft and brownish red in color. There is always fragrance coming from the cinnamon tree. It is used as a spice and medicine. Its oil can also be extracted.

The leaves of the cinnamon tree are used as a spice in food. They are also called bay leaves. The smaller the cinnamon plant is, the greater are its properties. The dried leaves and bark of cinnamon are used as spices. Its bark is a little thick, smooth and light brown in color. Cinnamon reduces obesity as well as cures many diseases. It is also a blood purifier. Mixing honey and cinnamon is beneficial for heart diseases, cholesterol, skin diseases, cold and stomach diseases.

Medicinal properties of cinnamon

For cold and cough: Cinnamon should be used in case of cold and cough. Mixing a little cinnamon powder in a teaspoon of honey and taking it in the morning and evening provides relief from cough and cold.
Mixing a pinch of cinnamon powder and a pinch of ground black pepper in honey and drinking it cures cold and sore throat. Mixing its powder with water and making a paste and applying it on the forehead provides relief from headache caused by cold air.

For joint pain: Use cinnamon to reduce joint pain. Mixing cinnamon powder and a little honey in lukewarm water and applying it on the painful part of the body and massaging with light hands is beneficial. Mixing one teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a cup of lukewarm water and drinking it also provides relief from joint pain.


Stomach problems: Using cinnamon provides relief in case of stomach problems like indigestion. Apart from this, the use of cinnamon provides relief from vomiting and diarrhea. Mixing a little cinnamon powder with a spoon of honey gives relief from stomach pain and acidity and food is also easily digested and there is no stomach problem.


Beneficial in skin diseases:
Cinnamon is also very beneficial in case of skin problems. In case of itching and rashes on the skin, make a paste by taking cinnamon powder and honey in equal amounts. Applying this paste removes this skin problem.
Mixing a little lemon juice in cinnamon powder and applying it on the face removes pimples.

For heart patients: Making a paste of honey and cinnamon powder and eating it with roti will prevent cholesterol from accumulating in the arteries and the chances of heart attack can be reduced.
If people who have already suffered a heart attack do this treatment, they will be able to reduce the chances of heart attack in future.

Increased cholesterol: Use cinnamon to reduce increased cholesterol. Mix two tablespoons of cinnamon powder with honey and three tablespoons of cinnamon powder in lukewarm half a liter of water.
This reduces the cholesterol level of the blood by 10 percent in just 2 hours, and taking it three times a day reduces the increased cholesterol.

For other diseases: Mixing a little cinnamon powder in a spoon of honey and rubbing it on the teeth regularly two-three times gives relief from toothache.
In case of stress, mixing a little powder with honey and taking it regularly gives relief and also improves memory. It is also very beneficial in asthma and paralysis.

For obesity:
Obese people should also use cinnamon. Mix one spoon of cinnamon powder in tea and boil it in a glass of water, then take it off the flame and add two tablespoons of honey to it and drink it about half an hour before breakfast in the morning.
Do this at night before sleeping. Doing this regularly eliminates unnecessary fat from the body and even after eating high calorie food, fat does not increase in the body and weight is reduced.

Cure deafness:
Mixing honey and cinnamon powder in equal quantities and taking one spoon each in the morning and night improves hearing power.
If there is a problem of hearing loss, putting a few drops of cinnamon oil in the ear provides relief.
