Celery is a storehouse of medicinal properties, that is why it is used a lot in Ayurveda as well as in the kitchen. Celery not only enhances the taste of food, but it also helps you keep away stomach related diseases. Like celery, if its water is drunk every morning on an empty stomach, it is beneficial for the whole body. The benefits of celery are especially known to relieve digestive or stomach related problems. Celery is used for the treatment of many types of common and serious diseases.

There are such beneficial elements present in the small seeds of celery, which you are still unaware of. In case of indigestion or indigestion, mother often instructs us to eat celery with hot water and salt.
Not only this, celery is an infallible medicine to get rid of cold, runny nose and cold. It contains plenty of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory elements, which not only relieve the phlegm in the chest, but also provide relief from cold and sinus.

Medicinal properties of celery

Acidity, indigestion and other stomach problems: If you have acidity problem, then consuming celery can be beneficial. It has antacid properties, which help in relieving the problem of acidity. For this, mix one teaspoon of cumin and a little ginger powder in one teaspoon of celery and consume it.


Gas and constipation: Anyone can have the problem of gas and constipation. In such a situation, celery can prove to be effective for you. It contains high amount of thymol, which increases the secretion of gastric juice. Apart from this, celery has laxative properties, due to which the problem of constipation is relieved.


Beneficial for the heart:
Celery keeps your cholesterol level fine, which is beneficial for heart health. Apart from this, it helps in relieving chest pain. For this, you can take one teaspoon of celery with lukewarm water.

Lose weight: If you are troubled by increasing weight, then celery can benefit you.
For this, take one teaspoon of celery with water every morning on an empty stomach. By taking it daily, you will be able to lose about four to five kilos in a month.

Asthma: Eating celery with lukewarm water also provides relief in bronchitis and asthma.
You can eat celery with jaggery twice a day. It has antispasmodic and carminative properties, which provide relief in asthma.

Cold, flu and viral infection: If you have a problem of cold, flu or viral infection, then celery shows effective effect.
Celery also benefits in blocked nose due to cold. If the nose is blocked, put celery in hot water and take steam. You will feel relief. Apart from this, if you have a sore throat due to cold, flu or viral infection, then take turmeric and celery mixed in hot milk. This will give you relief.

Mouth problems: Celery also helps in relieving mouth problems. If you have a toothache, then celery can provide relief. If you mix celery oil and clove oil and apply it on the teeth, then it will reduce the pain and there will be no bad breath.


Diarrhea: Celery also helps in relieving diarrhea. For this, boil celery in a glass of water. Then cool this water and drink it twice a day.

Joint pain:
Celery is very beneficial for arthritis and joint pain. If you have joint pain, then massage the affected part with celery oil.
You will feel relief.

Diabetes: Celery also proves beneficial for diabetes patients. For this, dry neem leaves in the shade. Make its powder and fill it in a box. You can benefit by adding one spoon of neem and half a spoon each of celery and cumin powder in hot milk at night and drinking it continuously for 30 days.


Ear ache:
Celery plays a special role in relieving the problem of ear ache. Celery has antibacterial and antiviral properties, which help in relieving this problem. If you have a lot of ear ache problem, then put two spoons of celery and one spoon of garlic in two spoons of sesame oil and heat it till the oil turns red. Then cool it and put a few drops in the ear. This oil can also be beneficial in case of a pimple in the ear.
