Introduction

Gram brings strength to the body and creates interest in food. Dry roasted gram is very rough and destroys Vata and leprosy. Boiled gram is soft, tasty, destroys bile, sperm, cool, astringent, Vata causing, absorbent, light, destroys phlegm and bile.


Properties

Gram makes the body fit and healthy. Creates vigor in the blood. Beneficial for liver and spleen. Softens the body. Cleans the blood. Increases Dhatu. Clears the voice. Beneficial in blood related diseases and flatulence. Its consumption helps in passing urine freely.
Soaking it in water and chewing it gives strength to the body. Gram is a nutritious breakfast especially for teenagers, youngsters and those who do physical labour. For this, take 25 grams of Desi black gram and clean it thoroughly. Take thick and healthy gram and remove the clean, insect stung or broken gram and throw them away. In the evening, soak these grams in about 125 grams of water. In the morning, after defecation and after exercise, chew the gram well and then drink the gram water as it is or after mixing 1-2 spoons of honey in it. This experiment seems very simple but it makes the body very energetic and powerful. The quantity of gram can be gradually increased from 25 to 50 grams. Drinking milk after eating soaked gram strengthens the semen. Drinking the gram soaked at night along with gram water after exercise keeps the health good. Those whose digestive power (power to digest food) is weak, or whose stomach gets flatulence (gas) after eating gram should not eat gram.

Harmful effects

Consuming it in excess can be harmful for the kidneys.
