What is Periodontitis (Pyorrhea, Pyari) A deposition of layer composed of bacterial flora (microorganism) and Ca(OH)2+ calcium phosphate and calcium silicate etc. around teeth subgingivally or supragingivally creating H2S gas formation which causes foul breath and bone resorption. Bone loss around teeth ———> puss formation ———> responsible for tooth mobility(loosening) ———> spreading of one tooth to the other. Causes and reasons of Periodontitis (Pyorrhea, Pyri):
- Ill maintained hygiene
- Allowing food deposition
- Improper brushing
- Use of hard brush
- Frequently changing paste (tooth paste)
- Cavity formation
- Frequently colic tooth pick
- In the habitat of guttkha, pan , tobacco, cigarette, alcohol
- Genetical reasons
- Malahigned teeth (disordered tooth position or rotation / gap)
Gastric disturbance very common: Autoimmune problem (dryness mouth / sticky saliva) Common sign of Periodontitis (Pyorrhea, Pyri):- (What we can feel):- Pockets:- Usually means the gap between the tooth and gum detachment through microorganism formation, especially in the contact areas. Mobility (loosening):
- Causes bone loosening through microorganism.
- Bleeding gums.
- Inflammation of gums from infection tend to bleed.
- Gum spongyners.
- Pain sometimes by touching
- Tartar deposition around and on teeth :-
- Tartar (made up of CaPo4 (Calcium Phosphate ) + Silica + Dead cells + Microorganism + Food particles ) or in other words tartar is just a hard layer like a stone.
Color of tartar may be seen in different ways : 1 – Green 2 – Grey (Very common) 3 – Yellow (Painful) 4 – Black (Extensive tartar) Teeth having spaces between each other (Large gaps). Root exposure. Gums shrinkage. Common symptoms of Periodontitis (Pyorrhea, Pyri):
- Pulsating pain in contact area.
- Swollen gums.
- Persistent bleeding gums.
- Foul/Bad breath very common.
- Hot and cold sensitivity.
