Should we take curd with milk or not? Milk and curd have different effects. Curd is a fermented food. Mixing both of them spoils the unfermented food (milk). You can take biscuits, rusks, almonds or bread with it, but eating heavy food does not allow the qualities of milk to get absorbed in the body. Adding leaves or ginger etc. to milk only enhances its taste, it does not change its temperament. By the way, drinking toned milk after boiling it, making kheer or mixing it in porridge is even more beneficial. It is better to drink lukewarm or room temperature milk instead of very cold or hot milk. Note: Often people believe that milk should not be taken after surgery or stitches etc. because it can cause pus, this is a misconception. The proteins present in milk help in healing the wear and tear of the body quickly. Milk can be taken anytime during the day. Take it at least one hour before sleeping. Keep an hour's gap between milk and dinner. Should you take buttermilk with food or not? Buttermilk is an excellent drink or additional diet. Taking it with food also improves digestion of food and the body also gets more nutrition. It is also easily digested by itself. It is even better if a pinch of black pepper, cumin and rock salt is added to it. It also contains good bacteria, which are beneficial for the body. Drinking sweet lassi gives extra calories, so it should be avoided. It is better to take buttermilk with food or after it. Taking it before will dilute the juices. Should we eat curd and fruits together or not? Fruits have different enzymes and curd has different enzymes. Due to this they are not digested, so it is not advisable to eat both together. You can have fruit raita occasionally, but you should avoid eating it frequently. Should we eat fruits with milk or not? Similarly, if a lot of caffeine is taken with food in the form of tea, coffee or cold drink, then also the body does not get all the nutrients. Should we drink milk with fish or not? Curd has a cold effect. It should not be taken with any hot thing. Fish is very hot in nature, so it should not be eaten with curd. It can cause gas, allergy and skin disease. Apart from curd, honey should also not be eaten with hot things. Can we drink water immediately after eating fruits, especially after eating watermelon? Water can be drunk immediately after eating fruits, however other liquids should be avoided. Actually, fruits contain a lot of fiber and calories are very low. If good moisture i.e. water is also added along with more fiber, then the body gets cleansed well. But this theory does not hold true in the case of watermelon or muskmelon because these are fruits with a lot of fiber. It is better to eat watermelon alone and on an empty stomach. It contains a lot of water, which dilutes the digestive juices. If any other thing is eaten with it or immediately after/before it, then it is difficult to digest it. Similarly, drinking water with watermelon can cause loose motions. By the way, watermelon is a very good fruit in itself. Apart from people wanting to lose weight, it is also good for sugar and heart patients.
Fruits should not be eaten with food
The mechanism of digestion of carbohydrates and proteins is different. The saliva enzyme that digests carbohydrates works in alkaline medium, whereas sour fruits like lemon, orange, pineapple etc. are acidic. If both are eaten together, the digestion process of carbohydrates or starch slows down. This can cause constipation, diarrhea or indigestion. Anyway, it takes only two hours to digest fruits, whereas it takes four to five hours to digest food. Modern medical science has a different opinion. According to it, fruits are acidic outside but become alkaline as soon as they enter the stomach. Anyway, everything that enters the body turns into carbohydrates, fat, protein etc., so modern medical science advises to eat different types of fruits by mixing them.
Do not eat sweet fruits and sour fruits together
According to Ayurveda, orange and banana should not be eaten together because sour fruits create a blockage in the sugar released from sweet fruits, which can cause problems in digestion. Also, the nutritional value of fruits can also be reduced. Modern medical science does not agree with this.
Should we drink water with food or not?
Water is the best drink, but drinking water with food should be avoided. If the food stays in the stomach for a long time, the body will get more nutrition. If you take more water, the food will go down immediately. If you have to drink, drink a little and drink lukewarm or normal water. Drinking very cold water should be avoided. Boil water by adding celery or cumin seeds. This helps in digesting food. It is good to drink a glass of water half an hour before or one hour after eating.
Should we eat garlic or onion or not?
Garlic and onion should be included in the daily diet. Garlic reduces fat and increases good cholesterol (HDL) by reducing bad cholesterol (LDL). It has anti-bodies and anti-oxidant properties. Onion increases appetite and it prevents fat from accumulating around the blood vessels. Using it for a long time can help in fighting cold and respiratory allergies. Garlic and onion can be eaten either raw or roasted. But eating raw garlic is better. Do not swallow raw garlic, chew it before eating because raw garlic is not digested many times. Also, it contains many oils which come out only when chewed and the body gets their benefits.
Should we eat curd with parantha or puri?
According to Ayurveda, curd should not be eaten with fried items like parantha or puri because curd creates a hindrance in the digestion of fat. Due to this, the body does not get the energy obtained from fats. If you have to eat curd, then add black pepper, rock salt or amla powder to it. However, there is no harm in eating curd with roti. Modern science says that curd contains good bacteria which help in digesting food, so curd must be eaten.
Should we eat fat and protein together or not?
Fats like ghee, butter, oil etc. should not be consumed in large quantities with heavy proteins like paneer, egg, meat etc. because if two types of food are eaten together, they interfere with each other's digestion process. This can cause stomach pain or digestion problems.
Should milk, bread and butter be taken together or not?
It is better to take milk alone. Then the body gets more benefit from it. According to Ayurveda, protein, carbohydrates and fat should not be taken in large quantities together because all three can create obstacles in each other's digestion and there may be heaviness in the stomach. Modern science does not consider it right. According to it, this is one of the best breakfasts because it is complete in itself.
