For many women partners of men who suffer from erectile dysfunction, the problem is a sexual one. This despite the fact that most causes of erectile dysfunction are anything but sexual. Ignorance of the true causes of erectile dysfunction often worsens such women’s feelings of low-self-worth, ugliness, anxiety, hurt and even anger. As mentioned earlier, erectile dysfunction, especially if the man is not insecure enough with his female partner about it, can make women feel either undesirable, that the man is concerned or both. As this happens, women may begin to confront the man about his inability to “get erect” by asking questions with some tone of concern, hurt, or even anger.
Often times, a person suffering from erectile dysfunction may interpret the manner of asking as a genius or an attack on his character and masculinity and thus, aggravates the situation by pulling ahead emotionally and physically. His female partner may retaliate by pulling away even further, thinking that the man's reaction was a confirmation of her suspicions. As this happens, the female partner can feel even worse about herself and open the door for anxiety or even depression to come into her heart and mind, bringing with them an even stronger sense of madness. And the crazy cycle continues to spin out of control until… the game ends.
Other extremes
While many women react by pulling their male partner’s erectile dysfunction, some others go to the extreme: they go overboard in trying to seduce their male partners into “strict.” With the belief that erectile dysfunction is only a sexual issue, they think that having sex from the sexiest is the key to making their men “stand up” and take notice by trying to dress in the sexiest and kinkiest undies. This approach, however, can backfire. Why? Given that erectile dysfunction is not purely a sexual issue, the man may feel pressured to get his wieners as hard as a rock.
As he feels even more anxious about his inability to “get erect,” the more like his penis will remain flaccid. The same thing would probably happen if the female partner tried to sex it up by becoming even more physical, say, say, fuck her hard or suck it. Because it's not necessarily about sex or the female partner, doing so will just make the man more anxious and stressed, keep his wiener soft and create more frustration for the woman. Can you see why erectile dysfunction is actually a serious matter?
